Tamiya Flat Acrylics

I have been using the Tamiya flat acrylics to touch up Corgi tanks that have scratches and chips. While the color match is good, the "flat" paint has a noticeable sheen compared to the original paint.

Any suggestions on a truly flat paint or should I be using something to dull the Tamiya acrylics?

you can try lightly brushing on some testors dullcote over the tamiya paint. This may result in the paint now looking too flat but if so just buff it gently with a kleenex or cloth and it will sheen up a bit.

Conversely you could spray the entire model with testors dullcote and that would give an even flat finish overall.

I agree with Aferg.. I use Tamiya flat acrylics all the time..
Typically, I paint the entire model, and when I am done adding coats or whatever, I shoot the entire model with Testors clear flat lacquer...

0ne of the few paints you can actually watch dry in your hand.I love this stuff.Dull cote will knock the shine down really well.

Great advice - I will be picking up some Testor's Dullcote this weekend.
