* Tempting , No ?
* "Mighty tempting" , but the pri¢e of these K&C pieces kills , w/ the exception of the Italian Armor ,.. which is almost a Muss Haben !

* I threw the Airfix set in cause it's the same tank as the finished K&C model. I did this because it basically has the same paint scheme shown on the box , which I have stored in my basement for now.
............ I know it's kind of a stupid question , but do you think any of these are worth it ? ... I realize that these are wayyy expensive but I myself or a few of us , may have to settle for stuff like this. I don't know. ... I hope not. ... 1:35 is just too small for me.
* I gather that there are more Italian action pieces to come , from the K&C line next year , sometime in 2010.
........ possibly an M13/40 , or an Autoblinda , I'd bet.

I traded for the Semovente at the September Toy Soldier show. Great piece. I have also previously purchased Figarti's Chevy truck and the SAS jeeps. I know they're expensive, but the same old vehicles get boring. The K&C pieces are fantastic but the majority of them are just too big when placed next to 1/32 pieces. Some of the K&C pieces, such as the older Panzers, work well.
Sadly it's really difficult to find old K&C at a reasonable prices. Figarti on the other hand can be found. I've purchased Stuart tanks and Humvees for less than $20. I've also been able to buy Britains and Frontline pieces for $30.

* K&C stuff ?
* Their newer pieces have certainly gotten better detailed. Especially to the lower chassis of tanks & tracked vehicles in general.
........ this I'm sure has added to the ¢o$t & collectibility.

If you think K&C are a bit on the expensive side take a look at http://www.firstlegionltd.com/54mmwwiis ... rmans.aspx
I actually do not rate K&C as they have scale problems and I definately have them down as cartoony but the first legion offerings are soo impressive that even at £45 a figure I am seriously considering collecting these.
I have no hesitation in saying they are far and away the finest painted toy soldiers I have ever seen.
Picture stolen from fmethorst on another forum, his excellant photograph.

Actually, 45 pounds converts to about $75 at today's rate.snake wrote:Fantastic looking figures.VERY realistic.
But $50?
But I am not a figure guy.
I'm also not a figure guy. $75 will buy tanks thanks.

......... sheesh ! ... these guys do look great but are they per set or per figure. If they are per figure , then I can live w/o them as I'm not that much of a connoisseur.
* "Btw" ,.. I do realize the scale difference of the K&C figures & vehicles however and agree that most of their figures look cartoonish but not all of them look this way.
I own a vehicle and a figure set which , actually , am quite pleased w/ my figures in particularly. They are the BoB GI POW set w/ SS captor. These don't look cartoonish @ all.
* I had 4 other vehicles @ one time but sold them about 4 yrs. ago ,.. sadly.

My mistake, I hadn't checked the website, I was only going off of what the poster had said. Perhaps that's his cost? I checked some of the UK dealer sites, and they seem to want 45 pounds per soldier. Either way, too much for me!

Good looking stuff
The First Legion figures look very much like some of the high quality figures that have been done by Russian companies. I have a Civil War figure from Aero-Art that I paid $70.00 for in 2001. It is incredibly well done and I don't regret spending that much.
According to their web-site, First Legion will only do mail-order, or you can get some things from George Guerriero's MinuteMen Toy Soldiers at a trade show. I have bought many items from George in the last ten years. He is a very personable man and responds to his emails quickly. You can find his website readily where he lists the shows he attends and he deals in FOV also.

First Legion guys look amazing! They're painting is great, yes, but I think the scaling is perfect!!! They don't look as chunky as the K&C figs often do but look less lanky than other manufacturers (21st for example). And of course, they're a far sight better than Popeye's Toy Company AKA FOV

I saw the First Legion at the Toy Soldier show in September. I also saw their tank. The figures are fantastic but expensive. They would go great with Britains, Conte, 1/32 Figarti, and Old Northwest. Even Frontline figures would work. They'd definitely be dwarfed by K&C figures and vehicles. The Legion tank was nice but not worth $300. It's all plastic.... If they ever fall in price I'd definitely consider them.....
