1/35 scale gear to 1/18

Post by bswearer » Sun Nov 22, 2009 4:09 am

i'm tired of searching for the XD vietnamese NVA just for that helmet. there's no british anything besides the bbi red devil. no russians except the IJ figures which have no accurate WW2 weapons and only the garrison hat. the decent russian ww2 hats from the gijoe figures are out of stock on every site i've seen with headcasts.

i know pickelhaube has made some 1/35 scale vehicles into 1/18 scale like that german scout car. my question is, how possible would it be to do this for accessories? take the gear from 1/35 scale models, and somehow make them larger......has anyone tried before?

for the most part, the bodies are there for people to custom make those types of figures that 21st/bbi/dragon have failed to produce, just no weapons or accessories to make them look decent.

it seems like tons of people want these items but never any way for them to get them. if it's at all possible for these to even be made, i'd be up for buying some accessories and i bet a ton of other collectors would too.

Well I have always said if there is about 10 people who would want a certain thing I will make it.

That still stands. Of course with todays market people are tight on funds so they are a bit hesatent to purchase a custom object.

But the offer is alway out there . Get 10 guys and it could be done.

so, it would actually be possible to model some of the various items i mentioned from 1/35 to 1/18? if so i will start a thread for each individual item to see if there'd be 9 others willing to purchase!! :D

ballpark figure, would be looking at approx. $5 an item like with the WWI helmets?

For tiny stuff. That sounds about right.

I would kick a hobo for some WWII British gear/equipment, and a decent Lee Enfield.

That seems like it might be a bit more difficult of a task, though.
I looked at the trap, Ray.
