None seen in Austin, but the TRU Lakeline had a few P-51's. Still no Para's

i put BBI Corsair together last nite i think it is way ahead of 21st Corsair
but 21st has learned a lot since they did Corsair. look at F-104 i still rate it number one in 1/18th planes

Damn, was I put to the TEST today. Saw the BBI Corsair at TRU. Detail and paint were outstanding. Pilot looks great. Price good. Even felt good just to hold the damn box!

But this is an airshow bird, I kept telling myself. Save your money for something new & different. You've already waited this long. Lots of good stuff is coming out soon. Sit tight. Don't cave.

Whew, close call. 8)

Good - we don't need anymore Air Show birds. There will be repaints (half the reason behind a Corsair) so maybe they will realize how much people appreciate accuracy when the wartime birds fly off the shelf. It's not our job to buy every release in order to encourage more releases. :?

I hear ya.

A big part of my enjoyment in this hobby is the historical aspect of the planes. God bless the owner of Marine's Dream who rebuilt a Corsair and made is flyable for all to see. I just can't drop any scratch on this one. Now, if BBI did a Korean Corsair...

I recieved my BBI Corsair the other day and I have to say I'm impressed. But also, I'm glad they did a non-historical aircraft. It looks like it fits with the Boyington Corsair I have and lends itself to all sorts of imaginitive things. I'd say bring on more generic aircraft. In fact I'd really like to have a Mustang flying "Miss America" from the Reno Air Races. Too Cool.

I think bbi after doing the re-paints of "Cripes" and Hurry Home Honey" for Bad Cat will move on. I dont think they have any plans on doing their "own" re-paints of the Mustang or Corsair. The Corsair I could see them re-painting at Bad Cats request like they have done with their Jets and Mustangs but other then that I thing bbi will move on and surprise us with another release. Some say a Zero but with 21st now coming out with one I dont forsee it. Yes bbi has been known to do 21st retreads like the Corsair and much "improved" Mustang but I think their next release in the 1/18th line as far as WW 2 aircraft is concerned will be a Hellcat. That maybe a wish on my part but I think its going to happen. This fighter is the only one not done by either company and I think it would sell in good numbers.

Just my thoughts.

3 bbi Corsairs at the TRU in Henrietta (a Rochester NY suburb) today. Looked them over as part of my lunch hour. Looked good! No obvious QC issues, and appear to be nice pieces. I would have picked one up but my Bad Cat order is on the way (expecting tomorrow).

Bloomington, Illinois has the paras and Corsair. Noticed the Corsair had a QC problem with the fuselage insignia. The gray part of the camo is masked off for the star and bars but they are too far forward, at least a 1/4 inch. You can see an outline where they should be.

Great pics Bruzzer. I'm mad because I cant find a single Corsair at any of the TRU in my neck of the woods and Bad Cat is sold out until maybe Sept. So I'll have to wait and get lucky I guess.

i would like to see a Korean war Corsair but to be accurate they would have to retool because buy time of that war most F4U-1Ds were in reserve or scrapped, F4U-4A & B's were the norm. but a big Hamiton Standard 4 blade prop would look nice. :D

Well, I would be all over an F4U-4. It has such refined lines and with the chin scoop, looks great!

My wife has reported that my 2 bbi Corsairs showed up from bbi. Now I get to daydream about them for the next 30 days...... :(

Came home to find my Bbi Corsair waiting for me. It is a Beaut. I love the attention to detail on this plane and the flaps are cool. The cockpit is awesome and to me the pilot looks alot like "Pappy". Hope everyone who ants one gets one.

Found the Corsair at TRU yesterday, and now have it proudly displayed on my desk. Really like this bird, very nicely detailed all around. Can't wait to see what bbi has planned next! :D

Received mine over the weekend and I am impressed. Wheels
aren't as strong as 21st but everything else is extremely nice.
Looking forward to see what else BBI has for us in the future.
Looks promising!
