Re: 1/18 scale Sherman wading trunks FOV adaption

Post by pickelhaube » Fri Oct 30, 2009 4:06 pm

Well this worked out pretty easy. I just popped off the hinged cover and with a little nipping and tucking the cover fit down nicely. You just have to SLIGHTLY bend the ax handel out just a wee bit.

Another good thing about the 21st. I was able to put a post on the top of the rear adaptor and it hangs on the back WITH NO GLUE OR SCREWS :D :D :D

The same goes for the BBI. But the BBI you need to remove the rear bustle and the exaust damper.

On the FOV there was no way to add these posts so you are going to have to tack glue the rear trunk addaptor.

I will be able to post some pics of all of them on Thurs. :D :D :D

Yes, I had forgotten their use in the Pacific. I was thicking D day only at the time. How ever not sure the 105mm version was used. Mounting a 75mm in the turret or using the FOV tuurret with the trunks and installing wood planks on the hull side would make a cool looking Marine Sherman.

OK the protos are done and I found some great paint that matches all of the different offerings of Shermans.

Except the BOB version. They would work if you put a little white on em. But during that time of the war the wading trunks were long gone.

These look great on those Shermies. Price ;

Unpainted unassembled $30
Assembled only $35
Assembled fully painted using Krylon paint $45

Krylon paint.

21st Sherman . I was able to put a little stub on the attachment so these things HAND WITH NO GLUE OR SCREWS. You should be able to pot them on and go ashore.

FOV Sherman. I was not able to do a locking pin . These will have to be glued on.

BBI Sherman. Just like the 21st. I have a locking pin that hangs on the rear flange. NO GLUE OR SCREWS NEEDED TO HAND THE REAR TRUNK. :D

It looks like only 2 guys on the board are interested. So much for this custom idea.
