anyone want a JSI Ira Kepford Corsair?

Post by dragon53 » Mon Sep 28, 2009 7:57 am

Since JSI appears to be re-releasing 21st Century's earlier 1/18 planes, does anyone besides me, want to JSI release an Ira Kepford F4U Corsair?
I missed out on the original and would to see a JSI updated version.

No, absolutely not!

While I do like the looks of Kepford's plane, it has already been done twice by 21c and does not need a third repaint on the same aircraft mould by JSI. There are plenty of other great Corsair schemes that could be done. For starters, why not make Tommy Blackburn's Corsair, "Big Hog"? That would get you a VF-17 plane, but in new markings 8)

I think they should do the 21st 1:32 Corsair S1 with the 1945 white tail version on a new 1:18 Corsair. That would be a unique scheme, and out of the ordinary.

I can't remember, but is the 21st British Royal Navy Corsair in 1:18 the same scheme as the 1:32 "Sinking of the Tirpitz" color scheme?
Mine's in a box somewhere in the garage lost in amongst a gazzillion other boxes. I need to get some "top men" on that to find it.

While I do think its a great scheme, I agree with Tman. Enough Corsairs.

Well, if we're going to have any more Corsair repaints, I'd rather have a BBI bird than a JSI/21st one. Possibly from a different Allied nation:

Just got this Royal Navy Corsair from Patrick[Airstrike Toys].Very nice.

Back to topic.
I would like JSI to produce versions that were not done by 21C.

How much does he want for one of these? That is a pretty paint scheme.

$199.

He uses a BBI Corsair, and does the custom paint.
He does other versions of the Corsair, and about 6 different F-6 Hellcats.

Patrick also says that he will do no more than 50 of each version.
So you will have a very rare custom, using the superior BBI plane.

Very happy with mine. 8)
