My Custom JV-44 Dora
I completed this for a friend a while back but came across the pics recently so I thought I would post them. This started out as a 32x Fw 190D-9 and was totally repainted with a new regular canopy added to represent the correct version of this bird. The pics were taken by my friend.

Thanks guys (and Aferguson)..aferguson wrote:why do you go to all the trouble to repaint 32x stuff? Why not just build a kit, which would be more accurate and better detailed?
Great job, btw.
The answer to your question Aferg, is that I do build and paint kits, but the 32x stuff is so much fun to paint and it is (was) so cheap! I also like the working landing gear and canopies which the kits don't have. The working bits make is so much better if I decide to fly it around the room.
An example of what I mean:
32x plane= $15 -vs- 1/32 hasegawa kit= $45 (or more)
One of these days, I'll take pics of my built kits..

Thanks, normandy wrote:Very Nice!!! What did you use for decals?.... Custom made or 1:32nd kit?
The decals are from the Eagle Editions JV-44 set. That set includes decals for all four of the known Jv-44 birds.

Yup, and if you add photo etch detail parts, decals, and any paints you don't already have on hand, it can quickly run the tab up to almost double that. Nice work on the bird Harry. An example of what I mean:
