Yeah, digger, its been a good week. The UPC numbers for the three I bought:

21105 21480 - CPL Pitt
21105 21478 - Lt. Lucas (medic)
21105 21482 - Sgt. Mahony

Don't know how well they do landing on grass, but tried them out inside. They wrk pretty good, but landing on tile you have spare shutes and helmets bouncing off all over the place!

Hehe, went to TRU in Times Square to get the skn # [0]87332

Both Corsair and Paras were "Active" but not in stock.

Still looking for the PARAS

Post by 75th Ranger » Wed Jul 27, 2005 11:36 am

Guys i know the UPS's got posted before but after my TRU recon I found out that the numbers were missing a little detail which will help the TRU people find them in their computers. here are the corrected UPC#:

0 21105 21480 0 - CPL Pitt
0 21105 21478 0 - Lt. Lucas (medic)
0 21105 21482 0 - Sgt. Mahony

You need those zeros for the proper item to show in the TRU pc.

So far they are active but not yet available in Florida.

take care.

Another warning on the accesories. If you go and throw them outside, keep and eye on it the whole time so you can find the helmet. On my first throw, I see paratrooper go one way, his helmet go another. And camo helmets are pretty hard to find in grass, for some reason.

Yahoo! Ordered the set of Japanese this morning from Bad Cat, and received an email notice later on that they've already shipped and are on their way. No more wondering if they'll ever appear in my area WMs.

Yes, on the back of the card that the Japanese figures are packaged on. They are the same names, headsculpts, & accessories just a more spotted cammo look to the clothing & helmets.

You will be pleased - the Japanese are officially the best XD figures yet. Best articulation, best detail (put next to an S1 German and the Nazi looks like a cartoon  ) and the most gear. 8) My only real beef is how BIG these guys are....I don't want to stereotype but the average JIA soldier dwarfs a Marine in XD land.

As Ranger said the mix & match should be fun. If you saw the pic of the carded S2 guys you know that the guys on the back of the Japanese card are WAY off. The actual S2 guys are very well done (see Bravo's CC photos) and it seems they have some variety in the headsculpts if only a new hair color. It looks like Dizzy has brown hair the second time around for example....

Paras at ToyFed?

Post by digger » Fri Jul 29, 2005 7:37 am

Was anyone able to get bbi Paras from ToyFed this morning? I saw them as just released in the top left hand corner but now I can't find them on the site? :?

The price was good - I think $46 for the set. Here in NYC they would ring up at almost $9 each after tax in TRU.....
My beef with ToyFed really is the shipping - regardless of the size/weight they get 15% of the cost to ship ground.... :x

O.C. CA Recon Report: Mission Viejo TRU has 5 corsairs, 2 P-51's, and all the Bbi Paras. Lot's of Paras on the shelves. Also saw a few Kiowa Recon choppers and a few Ultimate Marine Humvees. While youre there check out the McFarlane Military line. Really neat figures.

Corsair looks incredible in person. The detail is very good. I picked up two of the Paras. Haven't opened them yet, but will when I get home and will get some good photos of them in action.

all this new bbi stuff showing up at TRU is both good and bad. Good because it should boost sales, leading to more stuff in future. Bad because since it is TRU it will discourage BBI from doing anything German and probably even slightly controversial subjects.

So we may only see a steady stream of US equipment from them. No offence to my American friends but a steady diet of US hardware will not turn me on...

I wonder if this is one reason why the Hind has not been released. Maybe TRU felt it was too controversial being communist and wouldn't pick it up and that lead BBI to putting it on hold.

bbi stuff

Post by digger » Fri Jul 29, 2005 9:00 pm

The paras are out - they are at TRU and even made it to ToyFed for a few minutes. That seller is the same guy who paid for his trip to Toy Fair with a few of the exclusive 104s & 109s. Some Japanese bought his meals
Can't blame him for giving the peeps what they want. :D

As for the bbi at tru I agree it doesn't make German stuff too likely (bbi is doing a 1/35 Tiger - so they will do German and will distriburte outside TRU so I don't think we can rule out German stuff...), but in the end is that so bad? We have 3 German Tanks to one US. We will likely have an 88 before a 105. What's wrong with a steady stream of US vehicles? We haven't gotten it yet. If & when it happens we can moan about only US vehicles but in the meantime we have the same damn US vehicles we've had for over 3 years

As for the Hind, we should clear up the misconception that it was due last Xmas. That is not true. We did not learn of the rumor until around that time. And shortly thereafter we found out they were having "production problems" which makes sense because the thing makes an Apache look like a Huey. I think the biggest problem with that bird was how many $80 Russian helos could they sell? They've released multiple F-18s with more to come, and some people have them all - would those same people have multiple Hinds? Doubt it. I'd love to have it, it would be very cool, but no surprise we have not seen it yet, for a number of reasons....

the Hind was definitely originally scheduled to be out last Christmas. As to why it was not released, this can only be speculated. Price probably would have been whatever the Apache came out at. $49? or was it $59?

Repaint potential would have been low for sure but that doesn't seem to concern BBI. You have to almost coax them to do repaints.

I'm hoping this Christmas...

The Apache was $60 at TRU and wound up warming shelves until clearanced. Not just at one store - at ten by me. The APACHE. Hell, people wouldn't pay $40 for a Cobra which at the time was the best 21st AC to date.

As I said, I'd love to see a Hind (I would buy it on sight as I did with the Apache), but no surprise it didn't happen.

And go back to the old threads....you should be able to see when it was "leaked" 8)

Let's remember we were still awaiting the F-16 in the fall.

Here is the first word of the Hind (thanks as always Dirk):

Thu Feb 10, 2005 10:38 am Subject: BBI
Hello from Germany,

I have heard, BBI will release a Mi-24 (Hind) Helicopter.

Best wishes

Dirk
