UPDATE Landrover WOLF 110 with WMIK
Hi all,
Some of you will recall my scratch built Landie l did & was going to do this project on.
Well l was fortunate enough to pick up 7 diecast landies at 1/18th scale & thus the scratch built one is now defunct (anyone interested in the scratch built one??).
Anyway here`s a shot of the scratch built one.......
http://www.ofoto.co.uk/PhotoView.jsp?&c ... 7680335733
Now here`s some of the diecast & a lot better it is too
First off top view next to scratch built one.

Well l think using the diecast was the better way to go.
I will be doing another 2-3 of this variant (2 green & 2 desert versions),so please watch out for them coming soon

steel,
I'm going to ask a stupid question, but what is the model of the Landrover you used? I have been only able to find the 109s, which I might get one one day.
And about my Gwagon, I'm not sure about the country yet. Like the link you gave me has mostly two door models. The model I have has four doors. I found a Canadain site that had the four door version. Thanks for the help.

The model l used for my WOLF 110 WMIK is a diecast UH Land Rover DEFENDER 110 at 1/18th.
As for the 4 door G-Wagon,well as said l`m after getting this one (as said l`ve made a batch of Flecktarn German Figures at 1/18th) as the German SF KSK has recently upgraded to the G 500 4 door (though like the Defender 110 has the passenger two doors defunct).
Glad the links were of use mate.

Steel,
I know what you mean about the rear passanger doors not opening, but I have some plans to fix that. One thing I'm having trouble with is the diecast. I might try to cast the body in resin to be able to work with it eazier.
That is good new that I can use the 4 door for a German group. I do like the look of the Canadain version of the G 500 they use. I f I go with that one I will have to raise the ground clearance, which is about the biggest thing with this custom other than the wheel change. I bought the Hot Wheels one of the G-wagon. It was cheap and looks good.
The great thing is that diecast has made some good Land Rovers and G-wagons for these customs.
Keep us updated on the work on these. I love to see the work. Thanks

The hacksaw does work, but not for fine cuts, and the dremel uses so many blades trying to cut through diecast. Plus it is hard to keep the pieces you are cuting out, so you can still uses them. If that Autoart G-wagon was cheaper, because it already has the 4 doors that open in 1/18th. I would buy one for the custom, but a $60 it is high price just to cut it up.

Ahh right,
Well the version you have sounds like the version l could use,in that the rear 2 passenger doors don`t need to open, like the WOLF 110 l`m doing the rear doors do open though once l cut the door frame top half off, they were glued into place & they`ll be tidied up to look part of the body & not doors.
So the varient you have sounds right up my street.
Alas l`ve not found any G-Wagon 500`s at all
Oh the Landies l`m using ALL doors inc Rear flap/Doors if station wagon do work as to bonnet which even has a niffty little wire to bring down to keep the bonnet up
This model also is cheap which is why l have so many
