Here's a
post on my similar King Tiger, with photos and
Tiger I.
I pretty much love the Dragon stuff. I really like the crisp details and overall quality. I think mine was glued with just a little bit of barrel droop. Nothing anything but us perfectionists would notice.
When compared to the rest of the model, the treads probably don't live up to the rest of the model. But they're still pretty good. I guessing those who want to, can upgrade them.
For plastic the tanks are surprisingly durable in some areas, such as outside handles on the hatches. But I've also inflicted some damage. I broke the circular wheel on the loader's hatch on my Tiger I loose trying to push it open from the inside. This means I broke the glue joint loose and not the plastic and was able to easily glue it back.
I guess I broke a tiny little peg off near the radio operator's hatch on my King Tiger, trying to see if it would open.
Dragon has the Can-Do tank figures that go well with the tanks, although I'm highly suspicious of their paint. The figures are made of a rubbery plastic and probably have a paint to match their flexibility. It seems sort of soft/glossy/sticky and I worry about the figures' paint sticking to the tank if left in contact for a long period of time.
Maybe it's my imagination, but I think the paint on the Dragon 1/72 and 1/35 tanks scuff/wears off easily.
The description on the 61030 says it includes a protective display case and the 61008 just includes a display base. Does anyone know if this is correct?
