XD Figures

Post by Morian Miner » Sun Jul 24, 2005 3:21 pm

Sitting here at my desk not feeling like doing more work, I was staring at my Japanese infantrymen. Just wanted to send some Kudos out to 21C - the fact that in 1/18, in addition to the normal WWII US and German figures, we've had US, NVA, and VC figures from Vietnam, Afghani militiamen, and now these Japanese guys.

Now, hoping we do get some British paratroopers from a Bridge Too Far, maybe the next new area 21C can delve into would be some Russian figures. Maybe some WWII guys, although I would prefer some Cold War Ruskies - but we never fought them, did we  . Then, how about some Polish WWII paratroopers and some Aleutian campaign eskimo scouts to fight some cold-weather-gear Japanese.

After the long drought and now all that's showing up, a little dreaming never hurts.

I would love to see some 1:18 British troops from 21c. Afterall, they have 2 sets of them in 1:32. Russian troops would be a good addition as well - The Soviet army was, afterall, the largest of the Allied armies.

What abou the USO workers, Nurses and hookers?
Heck they all made their contribution to the morale and fighting spirit of the American fighting man!
21st Century could make a 1/18 scale figure of Bob Hope and all the lovely starlets that made appearances with him on all of his USO shows.

Some Russian infantry and a T-34 would be cool. Maybe a few British Red Devils
or 8th Army could be made.

I love the idea of British figures. Other Allies, maybe, but not anytime soon. We need a broader variety of US figs. I like the idea of Rangers and Marauders, or FSSF guys.

S2 Marines and I'm psyched. :D "Repaints" don't get me too excited but getting the variety in our corps is needed, and I think the production shots of the new camo show how much better it looks than on the back of the Japanese card. What will also be fun is swapping out the helmets on the new and old, and swapping packs & gear as it is all painted differently. :) Big question is will they have new or old articulation :?

Then we have the SS set in the pipes, and Platoon at the end of the year or start of 2006. Just like the SS snuck up on us I would hope others do too!

Of all the above suggestions, I have to say (again) Russian troops are the most needed. T-34 and some Russians. They could fight the Germans, chill with the US and we could re-use all there gear for Cold War dios 8)
