I hope its not true.Jesse James wrote:I've heard rumblings it was all a hoax, and that they're customs... No clue as to the truth of that either, just saying what I've heard over the weekend.

The mind is the limit. As long as the mind can envision the fact that you can do something, you can do it, as long as you really believe 100 percent.

Hasbro did make a larger size Titanium Ultra line as well as 3 3/4 figures. I've got them all, even the last HTF one Jango Fett in 3.75, but yeah all the Indy stuff was small.Sky Ray wrote:Ok, I'm lost, the motorcycle is 3 3/4, but it says titanium vehicle right after. IIRC, the titanium vehicles were the small scale diecast IJ toys weren't they?
I'm guessing this is a special edition exclusive or something.
Hasbro already said the Titanium's will not be produced next year, but they were talking about the little Star Wars ship line.

If I see them I will definitely buy any of these, especially the Motorcycle-sidecar, metal or not. Hope the figures are removable, so's I can put Henry Sr. and Jr. in it, on it.

I feel very guilty about having created this thread and gotten hopes up, but now it really seems obvious that these babies are fakes and part of an elaborate hoax.
Over the past few days, the figures have been painstakingly analyzed on other sites and they simply MUST be custom jobs.
Too many flaws, too many parts cribbed from other figures.
And, of course, no word from Hasbro at the Con.
The "con" is on us, gang. It's disappointing, but undeniable at this point.
Still, despite my disappointment, I have a lot of admiration for the sinister customizer and, in a weird way, this whole rollercoaster has been fun.

I don't see how they could be customs, if they have the Hasbro cards with them; and, with listed release dates.
Also, whoever is saying that the figures being kitbashed is a sign they're fake, must have had no experience with either the Star Wars OR more importantly, the new G.I. Joe line. Many of the new characters released in the Joe line are straight repaints of old characters-- sometimes even with the same heads

I looked at the trap, Ray.

Faking the cards would be easy, but ultimately kitbashing isn't evidence they're fakes, no. Hasbro not mentioning them, at SDCC, is pretty telling though.
I don't know if ANYONE even bothered asking Hasbro at the con to see if they had an actual answer. That's the funny thing about it all.
You'd think people with their ear right there would've done that. The workers are usually available at the show to just walk up and start talking to them. I know Darryl DePriest was readily available.
Anyway, I liked the figures, custom or not. I think though that if they were fakes, the guy who did it is pretty lame, regardless of how nice they looked.
I'm hopeful that we will someday see the remaining Raiders figures, an perhaps some extras, but I'm not sure it's going to be anytime soon.

Now Hasbro, make us some Head Sculpt & Endor Uniform variations! The new Rebel Fleet Trooper gets the JJ Seal of Approval Though!

A couple guys at the Raven DID approach Hasbro and were virtually laughed out of the room when asked about new Indiana Jones figures.Jesse James wrote:Faking the cards would be easy, but ultimately kitbashing isn't evidence they're fakes, no. A few days ago, I posted a very lengthy and painstaking analysis of why I was convinced the figures WEREN'T fake....but now I've come around completely to the other side.
If you are able to find a picture of the slide from last year's con showing the Raiders Wave 2, it makes it even more obvious. Or, barring that, pics of the prototype figures that were purchased by a handful of members also reveal some flaws.
Here are a few cogent parts of my more recent, pro-fake analysis:
No pinstripes on the Toht figure, which were shown on the original sneak peek slide from last year.
Toht's hat is an obvious repaint of Indy's removable hat.
More importantly, the heads are COMPLETELY different from the preview slide/prototypes. They are made with removable glasses, which the original figure did NOT have, no doubt helping disguise their origin.
I will admit that the burned hand Toht displays in the fake picture DOES look very convincing, but that one hand is not enough to make me believe any more.
How about Dietrich? Guys on this forum would recognize 21st Century arms rather easily, which he has.
He's also hugely tall. The Cobra Commander/Toht body is already on the very tall end of the Indy line and this Dietrich would absolutely dwarf most of the other figures. There's also zero resemblance to the character (likeness issues aren't always a good barometer, but it is at least a minor consideration here.)
The "barely glimpsed" Nepal Sherpa/Thug was a masterstroke. Showing only a piece of this figure was ingenious in making the pics look more real.
But others have identified the arm as belonging to a Jack Sparrow figure and the torso and head are most likely from a Golden Compass figure.
The Ark Ghost - truly an impressive custom and the piece that fooled me more than anything - might be made of Emperor parts, though that hasn't been 100% verified. Still, the theory casts doubt on the authenticity of the figure.
And consider this - why were NONE of the other known, but cancelled Raiders figures not shown in these pics?
The answer is obvious - because it would have been impossible to fake them, since we know what they look like.
However, with Toht, 90% of the figure was already available - minus the correct heads and pin striping, of course.
The rest - a clever bunch of customs and kitbashes.
I've seen a custom motorcycle on The Raven that looks just as good as this cycle. Not saying it was made by the same guy, I'm just saying it is conceivable that you could do it.
Yes, the figures are of a very high quality (with the possible exception of the kit-bashed Germans, but still, they're at least pretty good.)
But there just isn't enough real evidence to support these anymore. Too many questions, inconsistencies, errors and omissions.

Hoax
I hope not. These figures would be a great addition to the rest of the Indy line as well as other 1:18th Figs.....21st, FOV..............
Anyway I been looking at the Motorcycle and sidecar....Centone has pointed out the bike is different in some ways from the original...thinner tire, front fender, legshields and a few other things. The sidecar.....there's just something that makes me feel it was made by a toymaker not a model maker/customizer. The detail is outstanding but the thing that stands out to me is the seam where the top of the sidecar rounds down to meet the bottom. (the place your feet would be if you were sitting in it) If I did this as a custom it would be one piece of or filled with putty.
I like the addition of the Tactical marking on the sidecar fender.....looks like it designates a towed artillery battalion
something to go with 21st's 88.
I hope its for real... if not......Pickelhaube can ya.....................
