FOV Airplanes now available..

Post by hworth18 » Fri Jul 22, 2005 10:01 am

A member on another forum picked up the new 1/72 FOV Nightfighter Hurricane and another FOV hurricane at a brand new Target just opened up near him.. So, I would suspect we will start seeing these pop up at the regular retailers any time now..

The FOV Hurricanes Louie got at Target are the Action series, not the Enthusiast series. The 1/72 FOV Action series in vehicles and planes both start with a 9. If it is an Enthusiast series, the vehicles and planes will start with an 8. The Enthusiast series, for those who are new to this, not you Harry, are better detailed and the vehicles are weathered.
This numbering system also applies to FOV 1/32. The Enthusiast series will only be available from your hobby shops or die cast retailers, not in big box stores and vice versa.

This right from FOV (Unimax) in Hong Kong, there are the two series and the model numbers verify that. If it starts with a 9 it is an Action series and if it starts with an 8 it is an Enthusiast series. This holds true for both 1/72 and 1/32 scales.

Does that mean they will only be available at the "SUPER" and "GREATLAND" Targets?

I think this is something you will have to ask Target, only they will know for sure.

UGH!!!! I went to a greatland Target today. They are moving the toy isle around... I was looking at the new shelves and one of the markers said 'A-10 THUNDERBOLT' at $19.99!! DANGIT! I asked them if it was available... and they gave me the standard 'All we have is what's on the floor' answer.

I see 2 of the new 1/72 Enthusiast series Stukas are on the market in the U.S.. The retailer that always is the first to receive the new stock is selling them. He is locate almost next to Panache Place, the U.S. distributor and picks them up as soon as they arrive, no waiting for shipping. So if he has his, the other shops should start to receive theirs within the next few days.
The Stukas are 85030 and 85430. Much to my surprise he is advertising the 85229 night fighter Hurricane. We can only hope that this is a little bonus in this shipment.
As far as I know the next shipment should be available about mid to late September. What's in it, I don't know yet.
