New A-10 in 1/18

Post by Threetoughtrucks » Sun Jul 19, 2009 8:47 pm

Forgive me guys if you have already beat this to death. I usually don't read about AC, but this A-10 is currently on evil bay.

So what do you guys think about this? Oversized? Undersized? Just crap? Any potential at all?

No good. It's waaaaay smaller than 1/18 scale. Looks more like 1/72 scale in hand. The entire front opens up just to get a 1/18 figure in.

Keep your hopes up and fingers crossed.....maybe one day we will see a true 1/18 scale A-10......

Still waiting and wishing for a 1/18 A-10 Warthog.

Bummer, thought it was too good to be true.

Like the B-25 and the Mosquito and the P-61, maybe someday.

That is unfortunate looking. :( I was a little excited there as I had hoped that Admiral announced another new A/C! Bad Joke- I know. I just couldn't resist.

The mind is the limit. As long as the mind can envision the fact that you can do something, you can do it, as long as you really believe 100 percent.

I am not too sure but I think that I could make a A-10 kit for about $ 400-$500. Maybe less. This would be an unpainted kit using vacuform, resin some metal and probably some wing constuction in wood. Kind of a like a R/C plane.

I used to do some big R/C stuff back in the day. I have built a 110" P-38 and a 140 " B-24. Using balsa and spruce .

Now if I build it with plain details NO WEAPONS EXCEPT THE VULCAN CANNON. I COULD MAYBE GO EVEN CHEAPER.

Maybe wood ribs with scribed styreen sheeting so it woud be a snap in deal.

I have forgotten the scale size but I think the WS and the length are about 36 inches  This is a big plane.

I could do a built up fuse , built up wings and engine pods. Crazy simple cockpit. You guys could have one in about 2-3 months.

Any guys want to anti up ?
