The Best Week for XD

Not quite sure where to post this, so I created a new topic. Anyways, that nice long drought of new 1:18 products finally ended in a torrent of new products this last week. Such events don't happen often with this hobby (and neither do the shopping sprees). The week went something like this:

First, the armor repaints showed up at Wal Mart on Monday and I walked out with an OD Halftrack and COED Sherman. (I missed the Halftrack the first time around at TRU and the Sherman looked too cool.) Then I ordered a few more Marine figures from BCA and they arrived on Thursday. Friday was another big day when I went to Wal Mart again and found not only the new 32x Playsets and Troops, but the 1:18 Japanese figures as well! (Now the Marines have someone to fight.) Finally on Saturday, I picked up the F-104 just after it arrived at Hobbytown. What a week for new XD!

I hope many of you have also had similar experiences with in the past several days and weeks. Share them! Glad to see that the 1:18 line is not yet dead!

Yeah! I finally took the plunge - got my first WWII aircraft. I collect the modern stuff, but I'm tired of waiting around for a decent M1 or even regular GI's. Thought I'd never do it (imagining the expense of 20+ planes at $40-$80 a pop!) but today I bought a Fw 190D. Feel like a kid again buzzing around the house with this masterpiece! My kids wanna play with it, so I tell them to wait until they are my age

. Anyway, a great model (it is the Fw with the black and white nose spiral), and I think I am in for a great ride with all these other cool planes.

Wow, I had no idea the OD green Halftrack and COED Sherman were being re-released! I'll have to start checking around online for these, Wal-Marts around here still don't have any XD except a few scattered planes...

Glad to hear that alot of people are finding the new items! Hopefully the distribution will improve and there won't be any collectors left out in the cold.

I know this was years ago, but I don't think I will have a week like I did when S2 came out at TRU in 2002 (I think it was 2002):

I bought:

2x US HT's
2x Hanomags
2x S1 Tigers
2x S1 Corsairs
2x S1 P-38s
2x S1 Stukas

Now that was an expensive week!!

Went to Walmart today for some flea-dip, and low-and-behold, the drought has ended! That hurt the old credit card.

12 Japanese Infantry - $60
2 Walker Bulldogs - $45
1 Hannomog - $23
Not having to hunt for 21C at Walmart until the Avenger comes out - PRICELESS!!!!

today i won the xd big day award!

first, i found all 6 bbi paratroopers at tru. although i originally wasn't planning on buying them, when i saw those .50s and all the other goodies i couldn't resist. in fact, i bought seven - one extra to see just how well the parachute really works b/c next week i'll be on vacation and will be staying at least eight floors up in a hotel (with a balcony)!

no corsairs at the two tru i checked though.

next, i went to wm and found a bunch of our japanese friends. i haven't really had a chance to inspect them yet, but at first glance they look good. i probably should have bought more of them.

then, as i was leaving the toy area i found a night fighter 109! i had never before seen this plane and have been looking for it for a while. so i bought it too!

thirteen troops and one plane just because i took a little trip outside my normal operating area.
