you can make the wings and fuselage out of fiberglass and the Small parts out of plastic.

F 104 fuselage

if you research a little the center part of the F 104 fuselage was used to create the U2 ..... my 2 cents ....
1/18 mirage 2000 & RAFALE should i say more ?

On an official book about the U2 ther is a long part explaining tha to save time & weight they took one fuselage of the prototype F 104 (without the moving part in the air intake ... & they enlarged theses )

PH you can prapare some large parts ..... :)
