Aztec Eagles Movie

There are rumors that there will be a movie called Aztec Eagles based on the Mexican 201st squadron that fought in the Pacific Theatre during WWII using P-47's. The actors portraying the pilots will be Benicio del Toro, Antonio Banderas and Keanu Reeves.
I find it funny that the main characters won't be Mexican. Benicio del Toro is Puerto Rican, Antonio Banderas is from Spain and Keanu is of course American. If there is going to be a movie about Mexican pilots I would like to see at least one for acuracy and historical purposes.

Keanu Revees isn't only american, he's not even close to being Mexican! Actually, he's part Asian. One would think that with a budding Hispanic population in California, Texas, and the South West US (as well as Mexico) that they could find suitable Mexican actors. Benicio del Toro and Antonio Banderas (who are Hispanic) aren't bad choices, however!

Forgot to mention that the picture of the Mexican P-47 shown in one of the links would make a very interesting and unique repaint for the XD Bubbletop P-47!

I'm pretty sure Keanu Reaves isn't even American...he's Canadian.

I guess they could always get Salma Hayak to play the love interest and give it a bit of Mexican authenticity...

The best Mexican (at least I think he's Mexican) actor in my mind is Edward James Olmos. He was terrific in the new Battlestar Galactica series.

Nah, Salma Hayek would just ruin the movie. Besides, she hates Mexicans, even though they're the reason she became so pupular. She started out as NOVEL actress.
