and i work next door to a Wally world. my dealerships parking lot connects to wallyw. in fact i eat lunch at Big mac inside it and still have missed planes i wanted. this WM never got the P-47s.
so if i hadn't preordered from Bad Cat i never would have gotten them
plus the TRU never got the BBI F-18 or F-16s. so Bad Cats preorders saved me again
just my 2 cents
I find no need to panic on XD releases. For the most part, I can either find them locally or trade with others. That is a far cheaper option than on-line. Don't forget about shipping. With me living on the East coast, it doesn't just come to a $7 difference getting stuff vrom BCT! Now, with bbi stuff, that is a completely different story altogether. I ordered all of the aircraft on-line because I knew they would'nt be available otherwise.....

What about when everyone cheaps out at WM, till BCA, etc. are gone.
Then WM drops XD!
What then?
I don't mind the little extra to get the box on the doorstep.

Exactly.
However, by your logic perhaps we should all buy at WM so they
don't drop XD

I think it depends on which "little guy" you are talking about. For your typical moonlighting PE teacher running a little side business out of his backyard shed, we are definitely enough to make a difference. These "micro" firms have very little overhead (no rent, labor or associated taxes) so the sales we as a group can generate can be a substantial part of their income.
Other "little guys" like Toy Fed or BC can import 5-10,000 pieces at a time and have annual sales of several million dollars or so, certainly our impact is felt to a much lessor exent with these types of "small" businesses.

You misunderstood - my point was are there enough little retailers to support XD (nothing to do with us)?

BCA upped the price on the S1 pre-order - at this point with a pre-order not shipping until the 28th, them charging your card right away and the increased price, I can't imagine there is any reason to pre-order.
As for the S3 - Did 21st add German warning labels all over the plane or is that just me?
If they did that is truly some amazing attention to detail. I really want that S3....

I think they are all good looking, but the S3 looks the best. I hope we don't get into another FW 190 situation at WM where the S2 doesn't move so you never see the S3.

That German F-104 is soooo cool in person! The orange is BRIGHT, seriously bordering on neon. Very striking next to grey tones! What a great scheme. and yes Digger, ALL the warnings are present and very crisp!
Here is the Coolest part though... Because it is a G model and not a early US version it has a G tail! It is seriously longer and has a larger rudder than its Silver and Camo brothers! I thought that was a very nice touch! so the G is right now a unique mold with a different tail section.
People really liked the Starfighter. I am predicting strong support on this one!
I bought 2 of each plane! One set is going to a friend who is serving over seas right now. Well I guess they will be waiting for him when he gets back!
See you guys later, I'm tired from the trip!

Lucky bastard whoever got the other 2!
This is the first time in XD history that 2 different model versions of the same plane have been released at the same time. Sweet!! For the first time you aren't just getting a repaint, but a new aircraft altogether. I like that a lot!! I'm sure that didn't keep down modeling costs either.....
PM sent, Zach..........

wow....that is great that they actually made structural mods to accomodate the paint mods. As Ski said, a first and hopefully a trend for the future.

I picked up the F-104 at comic con...as well as the Gunter Rall ME-109.
The F-104 is really, really nice. I had it sitting on the landing gear for two days now...and they hold up really well. However, I just strung it up on the ceiling of my garage with all my other planes.
This is by far one of the best products 21st Century toys has done. I also held it up next to my bbi F-18 and it's just as big as that one!

It's a pre-order. If you're gonna do that you might as well save $45 and order on BCA.

I was able to get a F-104 at comic con as well. The German paint scheme and the silver american scheme. I'll post some photos of the Starfighter next time I set up the photo studio for the archive.

I don't think anyone can tell when anything will show up at Wal Mart, whether it be XD, school supplies, lawn accessories, or what ever
The F-104s could show up a week or two before they come to the small retailers (like the Spitfire did) or show up many months later like the BF-109G. Currently, they are supposed to arrive at the small retailers by next week.

Badcat is calling the S1 an F-104G but it's an F-104C is it not?
