Holy crap is right. This is a good effort by 21st in my opinion to make (complete) playsets with aircraft, armor and troops. Nice going guys. I never thought they would make a Zero. If they built a Zero,
there is definately hope for a light or medium bomber in the future.

How About New Line of Figures

Post by zonetoys » Sun Jul 17, 2005 7:00 pm

With the Japanese on the market, Corsairs, and now a Zero, I think it is time for 21st to produce some Navy figures for those Pacific Theater dios!

Imagine Sailors in blues running around either on board a ship while being dive bombed ar better yet grey jeeps and trucks on the Tarmac at Pearl Harbor, with hangers, navy planes, and civilian diecast 1:18 vehicles about!

WOW, what a whole new world of possibilities!

remember that the Zero is not a finished product here. It is MAJOR impressive but Roy still isn't pleased with her. Some minor tweeks to the nose cowl, canopy and Major to the wing! I think the rounded version is 99.9% likely to be the one that would go into production. -Remember this is not in plastic yet, It is a styrene & accrylic one of a kind. I got to spend some personal time with this at the show and she is a beauty! Excellent job 21st. What a cool secret!

Zero

Post by kimtheredxd » Sun Jul 17, 2005 10:12 pm

If and when we see the avenger I will also buy a zero to show support to 21st in listening to what the"colletors" want( maybe a green one if they do that color too).So maybe they will build more things that we ask for.But pritty please can we have a bone as to when the avenger will ship? :? p.s Ilike the flight 19 repaint I may have to pick one of those up too or five lol.Wonder if some one will make decals so we can have the whole group!

Don't worry about decals, 21st is doing all 5 within the regular production run of that scheme. Looks like it might be a bit of an "Easter Egg" hunt if you want to get all 5. But I did confirm that they are doing all of them! That way people can do all 5 or just pick the number that they want to have one of. At least we get to have the choice with out going the decal route.

Hey guys, I just got back in town myself after helping 21st with their booth. I have hundreds of photos to sort through and hopefully tomorrow I'll get a gallery up of all the photos I took at the 21st booth during the weekend. Most of my photos have actually been the ones on Area 21. It was great to see those few from the message boards that I did, and I welcome those who we refered to these boards!

I don't really know if Britt saw anything new or not. I did get a chance to walk the floor and I stopped by BBI. I didn't really see anything new yet. The Corsair wasn't ready. I did see the Para sets but that was about it. other than that it was just the usual suspects.

This is some major rain on the parade. We hear after a year and a half, they are still trying to put the Avenger in a box. So, if this is the first cut, I think we still have a long (i.e. at least a year) wait ahead.

Realism

Post by digger » Mon Jul 18, 2005 11:04 am

Just realism - we've seen protos before that never got made so just keep that in mind. Nothing is ever "for sure" - we know that.

You have to wonder what BCA is doing declaring when it will get made. Nobody said anything about that last we heard. That's how people get pissed - unrealistic expectations. The other extreme is bbi - no info and us with head up our asses but at least no painful anticipation. :D

I got a Pave Hawk from BBi at a reduced price, but that's about it. If they had any other F-18 besides the Golden Dragons I probably would have gotten one.

Looks like everybody had a good time attending. Wish I could have been there. ...

WAIT! I WAS there. From set-up early Tuesday morning to tear-down Sunday night. Being the Stepan Fetchit of the booth, I guess I wasn't celebrity enough to be mentioned   . My arm might be featured in a product pic or two later on :P :P . I'm back in my "special room" under the stairs now, until they call me again.

I thought all the new stuff was pretty cool. It was great seeing my booth buddies again, and meeting new ones. Really looking forward to the new 32X stuff.

I didn't make it to ComicCon but I had my brother pick up the planes. Here's a couple of shots of the planes up.

I put the pics up on webshots. Hit the website button below to see them. Just a few pics but I'm now up to 53 planes hanging. They're starting to block out the lights in the room. :)
