Cammander star antenna for Sdkfz 251 on it's way.

Post by pickelhaube » Sun Jun 07, 2009 4:53 pm

Hey Guys finally got around to doing the cammanders ant.

I was not sure on how I was going to do it. After about 4 hrs and 3 attempts this is what I came up with.

I made the tines out of brass first i, t was a FAILER. The tines are made out of styreen that go into a aluminum shank on a brass tube. I tried to pull the tines out ( not that hard mind you ) and they are stuck good.

The ant should be mounted in the middel at the back of the tank. It should be in the standard insalator in an elevated pot. I WILL MAKE THIS AS WELL. It also should have a standard ant in the stock location ( were mine is sitting ).

I will have to make the stars by hand. There is no way to cast them. I could also go with thinner stock but it will be real fragile. This will hold to some abuse.

Cost is about $20 $25 plus shipping. I am ready to start production on this if there is interest.

Comments welcome.
