German F-104 at Salvation Army
Wednesday I went to donate some clothes at our Salvation Army and I was impressed with their upgrades to the place and layout. Much easier to find things. Saw they even had a toy section, and low and behold a 1/18 Marineflieger F-104 still in the box was sitting there. It was once opened and most likely displayed but whoever donated this did a decent job of putting it back in the box putting all the pieces in the right places. Box isn't mint, a slight torn hole on the underside but the plane was one of the most perfect mint XD planes I have ever seen. Not a scratch and the paint was applied perfectly. Nothing missing, nothing broken. Unbelievable.
Asking price - $25. You bet I snatched it up and gave it a good home.
It's now my favorite XD I own since this one was my "refugee"!!

Long before I was on this board and really into 1/18 XD, I came across a P-51 Mustang (can't remember which one) and the original ME-109 in their boxes with loose and/or missing parts. Goodwill had marked them both 20.00 each. They still had the TRU price sticker on them.
I passed on both of them at the time.

It's a nice paint of that model IMO, because the solid gray really shows off the finer details I think - better than the camo or silver.Black Lion VF-213 wrote: It's now my favorite XD I own since this one was my "refugee"!!
