Hey guys just saw the pics of "Sweet Arlene" 21sts P-51D and although it looks pretty cool I'm not blown away by it. I'm very interested in the "special feature" thats going to be announced tomorrow for 21st new P-51. If its going to be a removable engine cowling with detailed Merlin then I have to get one but if not.....well I might think about it.

I'll wait to make a comment until I see the final P-51 product.

The 'Sweet Arlene' IS just that, "Sweet!" Even we don't know what the surprise will be and we leave SD tomorrow, Saturday. Not much at ComicCon to keep us around for long.

Roy said the aircraft stands were custom for the show and they don't intend to make them available to the public. They will be included for the P-51D winners.

Since we were told by Roy and Chapman at 21st that the F-104s and Me-109 Ralls wouldn't be made available for the next 2-3 months, we decided to purchase and ship a few of both to our location.

If you're familiar with us via our mail order service then your orders will come very early. If you've seen us on eBay, then you know we never have a reserve on our auctions and our customer service is next to none. Also, we would like to take this opportunity to announce that we will be launching our new website, "FoxholeToys.com" within the next 3-4 weeks.

A little info on us; we have been collecting 1:700 through 1:6 scales since childhood, and we ONLY sell what we ourselves collect. This keeps us knowledgeable and up to date on all our products and news you can use. Our goal is to provide our fellow collectors with great 'military' toy collectibles at the best prices possible with the very BEST personalized service! - all the while promoting what we think is a FANTASTICLY EXCITING hobby and industry!

We wish all of you well and thank you for helping to make Foxhole Toys possible!

I really like the lines on the new P-51. With the spinner looking correct, it really sets the look of the plane. Now, if the gear has the correct rake to it, I'm in there!

The Avenger looks sweet as hell. I am soooo looking forward to the plane, I cant' tell you. Wait 'till you guys see it in person. Such a huge plane with such correct lines! Love with wings, baby!

The German 104 looks like a must-have as well. I like it a lot better than the S1 version. Well done 21st on this one!

I'm hoping for a Zero as well under the flag...... We'll see, now won't we! ;)

Slowly, but surely, we are starting to see some real action. Now, we are seeing new Shermans, HT's, Japanese, and M-41s at WM. Now if WM can get a better distro going......

some info

Post by markecho » Sat Jul 16, 2005 6:02 am

Hi folks,
Well after stopping by the 21st booth and talking to (i think his name is ROY - the product designer right? ... i still have to get his name, I even talked to him last year)...these are some of the things I can remember. I don't really ask for specifics now (like dates and what new items) because after talking with other companies, it is really hard to get concrete answers as Im sure we are all aware.

well most of my info is 1:18 related:

I haven't seen any pics but as far as WWII german tankers - there are and will be a total of 3 paint schemes. winter, pea-dot and the reversed winter (which is sort of dark grey almost black) - so no black like the original S1 commander :(

Vietnam figs will have articulation just as good as pac marines and japanese.

Avenger - one of the things that is causing many of the delays is that they are trying to fit it in the same box as all the other planes! this is of course to satisfy Wally's request so it doesnt take much shelf space. on the good news they are also TRYING to get it so that it sells at Wally's for the same price point as the other planes! whoa...would that be a great deal - retail avenger for $39.99??? again this stuff is still in the works..

and from my conversation with him, in my opinion there isn't a zero under that flag...we touched on the zero subject again and it didn't seem like we would see one anytime soon. his example was an aviation publication..had a huge section on P51, repaints..etc...and then the section on the zero it was only a quarter page...so just not enough recognition yet (even thought that is the plane that most people now of)..and bottom line it probably would not make them money..yet. Also he mentioned that there would only be a possiblity of 3 repaints..so i guess they make a large part of their profits from repaints..hmmm any surprise there? maybe when the pac BOB comes out they can bring us a zero! (assuming there are zeros shown in the flick)

He did ask me "what I would like to see in 1:18" and I put in my plug for the King Tiger!...and also an M1A1...:)..and he mentioned "what about arty?" and I said oh heck yeah..definately.

the only thing that we really touched on 1:32 scale is that the line is doing well and will expand fast. lots of armor and planes there on display.

1:9 scale RC M1A1 still in the works.

Well kudos to 21st for a great booth.
Also for making available the Japanese figures at $25 for a set of 6! Very nice way to reward area 21 fans (If you are a pac theater collector).

well that's all i can remember now..
If i think of anything later..ill edit the post...still early.

My guess: There IS a Zeke under that flag but they will never get around to producing it.

Everything is supposed to be 1/72 scale.. But the pics I saw, the figures looked a little larger than that.

WOW

Now that is a great surprise! With as much as negativity we were getting from 21st to see it was just a smoke screen...Amazing. Now how long until it is actually produced?

The markings look like a Pearl Harbor Zero anyone know for sure?

What a great surpise!!

Not a Pearl Harbor version; The Zeros at Pearl Harbor were A6M2's. The 21C model is the A6M3 variant in early IJN paint. Probably a good choice as 21C repaints could include late war green.

Well-kept suprise, 21C!!

That is a surprise. Did anyone see the P-51 'special feature'? check 21st site, detailed working gun bay doors. pretty cool. apparently they are individually molded peices not one big molding in the wing, which will definitley make them look nicer.
