IJ Figures Reappearing at Big Lots!

Post by dandaman » Wed May 20, 2009 4:34 pm

I finally tracked down the IJ Last Crusade wave at one of my local Big Lots. I picked up 2 grail knights, 1 Vogel, and 1 Elsa. They had a ton of Elsas left and I even left 1 grail knight for somebody else. On top of that, I picked up a canvas-topped truck for $10. You can't beat that! They had about 4 or 5 more trucks left. For those of you in TX, this was the I-20 South Arlington location. The one across from Hooters.

dandaman, how is the Grail Knight figure? Would it work well with other Knight figures (such as Warriors of the World and Ages of Action)?

I haven't picked up any Ages of Action figures yet, so I can't compare it. As far as the figure itself, it is awesome. I love it. Really detailed. I like his cloak. And if you look inside the crate he comes with, the relic is a shield. It doesn't have a handle on it because it's a relic, but if you glue it to one of the knight's hands it would make an appropriate shield!

Indeed. I have been there on occasion. The girls will usually try to spark a conversation with you. Typically the guys around me are chatting about sports and man things with the girls. I'm always shy because I want to discuss things like my action figure collection.

The mind is the limit. As long as the mind can envision the fact that you can do something, you can do it, as long as you really believe 100 percent.

You should bring it up, I think they'd welcome the change in conversation. They talk to us just to get tips anyway.

Even sadder.

You know what's even sadder? If I had to choose between Big Lots and Hooters...Big Lots would win every time.

YOU HAVE TO BE CRAZY TO CHOOSE BIG LOTS OVER HOOTERS.

Well, it depends really. If I'm after some rare IJ figures (which I have been after for awhile) then I'm choosing Big Lots. For example, if someone said they saw a Short Round or Mola Ram figure at a Big Lots, do you think Hooters would even cross my mind???

I don't know if they have Bone Daddy's House of Smoke where ya'll are but it's better than Twin Peaks & Hooters combined.

Just a heads up that I've wound up with too many IJ German Troop Car/Jeep things, and have two for sale in the Buy/Sell/Trade area. I know guys were looking for these so I figured I'd offer them here before I go to the more Indy-centric crowd with them.

Nothing here. All I ever found were two of the german jeep-trucks. Yip-pee. Maybe the 'new' stocks arriving at some stores are just from the same original shipments, but it's taking some stores longer to get them on the shelves. Never have seen Elsa in any store, any where.
