Relax HW....these are just pre-sells. They'll be generally available soon enuf. The only one you're getting screwed on is the hand painted P-51's they're raffling off..

I want to hear some REALLY (not Rall-y) HOT NEWS; like a 1/18 Leopold or something.. :D

Aferg.....
I do feel that way because we have been waiting HOW LONG for the next 109G??? Not to mention the exclusive paint schemes, figures, and the prototype paint schemes.. Sure, I know I will be able to get one, but WHEN?? 6 months, 8 months from now???????

BTW, I REALLY want the Rall scheme.. I didn't know it was coming, and now it is definitely on my list..

I honestly don't mean to be negative, but I feel like they are rubbing this in my face, and I am NOT happy about it..

Okay, 21C and BBi can stop with the exclusives! I've got someone picking up the infantrymen for me, but if anything else good comes up, I can't get a hold of him to say "pick this up too!".

..be there too

Post by markecho » Sat Jul 09, 2005 7:26 am

Yeah..I'll be there too in a frenzied-overwhelmed-running-around-like a chicken with his head cut off mad man...

Just kidding...I'll just meander through the endless eiles of great stuff trying not to buy everything I like!

I'll be checking out the 21stC booth, BBI booth, Ignite, and of course Hasbro.

Maybe try to get some inside info on some of the rumors of the bad news that is surfacing...mainly BBI discontinuing 1:6 and Hasbro discontinuing Unleashed
It is the dang toy companies that have sometimes made me want to stop collecting toys!!!

Okay,
I'll revise my request....
Would anyone going to Comicon pick up a Rall 109 for me??? I'll pay for the plane plus shipping and I'd make it worth your while..

PM Me if interested..

Thanks,
Harry

Boy will this forum be buzzing during and after Comic Con. Someone let us know if the 21st P-51 is there and what it looks like will ya? I'm interested to hear what the hand painted proto types will look like. And as for the Gunther Rall 109 I dont buy 109's but this will be the exception for the 1st and only time.

For those that are going to attend Comic Con have some fun and keep us posted on the happenings.

P51, where are you staying?

I'll be down in National City. Just 3 short miles from the convention center. My hotel also provides free internet access - so I can hook the board up, which is one of the reasons I chose the place.

I'm within walking distance of the Con. Usually I stay in the hyatt which is just about next to the con, but this year it filled up so fast I didn't get a chance to get a room, so I'm staying with friends near horton plaza. The nice part about that is on the way back to the room I can stop at the mall and get stuff to eat :-D

I am excited for this show! I hope to meet some of you there. I know Britt is going to be there and he is kindly going to do many of the photos for us. -Thanks Britt.

Yeah! there is a "special feature" that has been waiting for the right time to rear it head. I just found out what it was, I'ts a nice little addition that will bring more realism to the airplane. I sorry I can't report on specifics right now... There is a plan in place to make the announcement at the show and 21st doesn't want me to take wind from its sails. Lets just say It wasn't what I would have guessed at first but it is very cool. especailly considering it ties into another development down the line!

And yeah the hits just keep on coming! 21st is going to inform me of the "trick up the sleeve project" tomorrow when my plane gets in and we all meet for dinner. Looking forward to that in a big way!

I just have to figure out how in the world I am going to get 2 airplanes and japanese figures home safely without shipping them. If I assemble an F-104 and carry it on is it considered a sharp weapon? Will security take it from me simply because its cool? Out of the box it looks a bit like a surface to air rocket! :D

Comic Con is going to be a blast! We plan to do reporting in several segments! look for video clips too! hang tight it's about to get fun again!

tko -

Concerning bringing the F-104 home without shipping, it would be best to get it back in the box, that way security will know its a toy and it will also be protected. There shouldn't be a problem, even if it was assembled, as the plane is obviously a toy and doesn't look like a gun, knife, or some sort of explosive. I've carried some smaller Corgi aircraft and once a 32x M-5 (with hedge cutters) on a plane in my carry-on luggage before, and there wasn't a problem. Security just doesn't want anything that resembles or can be effectively used as a weapon carried on the plane.

Well, just found out I wont be getting the tickets. Oh well. I'm too tired from being at the US MOTO GP last weekend to get the energy to truck to San Diego for Comic Con.

Thanks for the live coverage P51! :D
