Kyosho Challenger

Post by skypirate » Fri May 01, 2009 10:15 pm

Since I have the camera out, I decided to share some of my odds and ends.

The 1/55 scale Kyosho Pocket Armour Challenger RC Tank, No.69020C-40. Lots of detail for the size, RC and price. Note the inner five wheels are raised and do not make contact with the treads on a flat surface.

1) is that how the actual Challenger has its wheels arranged?
2) do the treads on this one make contact on a rough surface? Do the turn?

I've updated the link in the previous post. If I recall correctly, the line up was the Abrams, Challenger, Leopard. Tiger 1, Panther and Type 90.

It would appear there's an extra wheel in theirs.

On the side view, you'll see that the middle five wheels are raised a few millimeters and do not roll. My guess is, this reduced friction. However, there was an upgrade for some of the tanks that included middle wheels that turned.

It does better on flat, hard surfaces. I'll have to shoot some video of it.
