Guys,
Thanks for the kind words, DAK cammo won't work, It's gotta be Mid 1943 up, maybe Italy, Sicily, somewhere in the Mediterranean area, What i need is a Unit and Tank number before i can even start Detailing it, I know some of you guys are Tiger pro's and have researched this area before, Again....Any suggestions.....

Also, what did you use for the screens over grilles?
The screens are wire mesh i picked up at a hobby shop a while back, I was looking at your 1/16 tiger post, where Doogly posted a great ;ink to early tigers, #131 caught my eye, It has full fenders and rounded exaust covers, The type air filters on mine did not come out untill early 43, i don't think i'll change this on mine, but i will cast early models for later customs, I'll be watching your progress on your HL, I have a couple of these tanks i want to do later on down the road.

Re: Tiger
So what's the difference between this version and the version SpzAbt 504 used in North Africa?thehun wrote:Guys,

That custom is cool as hell by the way. I'm seriously interested in that kit too.
If at first you don't succeed, try, try again. Then quit. No use being a damn fool about it.

Re: Tiger
I guess just the air filter system, "so it could be #131 of the 504 " I have looked at so many books, photos, on and off line, so many field modifications were made on these tanks, you'll just about pull your hair trying to sort through it,flpickupman wrote:So what's the difference between this version and the version SpzAbt 504 used in North Africa?thehun wrote:Guys,

Tiger 131 (The tank restored in Bovington) is probably not the best candidate for your Tiger. For example, the Bovington had the early feifel filters, as opposed to your late model, simplified filters. Plus Tiger 131 didn't have hull S-mine dischargers.
How about one of the Tigers from the 503rd, or the 502?

Normandy, normandy wrote:Another Great looking custom Hun! This is the 21st Tiger I so did you cast resin road wheels or use the ones from FOV's Tiger?
The wooden handles on the tools is nuts in a good way. Great job.
These road wheels are from a FOV tiger, But i have cast some for my next tiger custom.

I know 131 carried early air filters, I have Cast some early filters, but i dought i'll use them on this tank,GooglyDoogly wrote:Tiger 131 (The tank restored in Bovington) is probably not the best candidate for your Tiger. The S- mine Dischargers mounting brackets can clearly be seen on 131's hull, and it was not uncommon to see Mid production tigers with this early production feature, so at one time they could have been on it and removed in the field???????????
one The Bovington photos "they say is of 131 in Tunisia" does show a S-mine discharger on the front left-----But still who knows for sure-----

Tiger
Hey guy ,
It took both tanks to build the Tiger, The Bottom, running gear, and tracks are from a FOV, and the top from 21st, and i don't mine telling ya, nothing fit together, Lots of grinding--cutting---scratch building, But as you can see the end result is very nice, I also have cast some Early air filters, Now i have both styles, ( On the work Bench ) The wheel and sprockets are are cast for up-coming projects----Hetzer-----Marder-- Both in 1/18, The T-34 is a RC 1/16 that i'm making working hatches and 1/16 Russian tank crew for, at the far left of the work bench is a Bandia 1/16 RC Stug, that i'm totally rebuilding, All the other stugs are 1/18.
