what a lifestyle change- not stopping by a different TRU every couple of days or so- my gas mileage ain't so bad after all. No 21st or BBi stuff to drive around and look for is certainly change, but where's the hope?

Despite the seeming national trend of disappearing 21c products, both my TRUs still have a bunch of 21c items... the problem being that they can't ever seem to sell them, so as usual, they are not going anywhere. Still a number of 32x playsets, figures, jagdtigers, howitzers, Hetzers, 1:18 Pak 40s, Stuka zu Fusses, 1:48 Tonys, and a few 1:18 figures. Still lots of the FOV 1:32 and 1:72 vehicles and aircraft as well.
They only have the 32x "Kursk" and "Tunisia" playsets on any sort of discount, but the remaining products will most likely just sit there until either discounted or shipped somewhere else. Part of me thinks I should grab another one of those Stuka Zu Fusses, but I want the price to come down

Tell TRU that you from the newly formed Office of Government Stimulius.tmanthegreat wrote: Part of me thinks I should grab another one of those Stuka Zu Fusses, but I want the price to come down
You are under orders to collect all the 21st Century items on their shelves and redistribute them to highly skilled craftsmen (The Hun and Pickelhaube) to be repainted for sale to pay off the Wall Street bailout.
Flash your library card quickly in front of the manager's face and wear a trenchcoat and hat.

Remember, we ALL must do our small part...
You have your mission, Mister. Why are you still looking at this screen??
PS:Remember, if you are captured, the OGS will disavowal any knowledge of you or your mission. Good luck...

BOOM!!!
Stopped by the Kansas City north TRUs the other day. They had the Chinese Mig , both versions of the M16 Halftrack and the Pak 40 Halftrack in 1/18. In 1/32 they had several JagdTigers. They also had a couple DAK figures in 1/18th. I was surprised to see no P40s. Last time I was there they had about 5 or 6.
.
There are no 18th AC at at least 3 local TRU on the north side of Atlanta, no armor, either- tons of green 155mm guns at one tru, a few peg warming figs here and there. Most of the walmarts I used to frequent (frequently) have absolutely not XD, one having a lone spitfire, if anyone doesn't have one by this time, let me know.

In terms of 1:18 scale products, my TRUs have a few of the cammo Pak-40 guns, and a smattering of DAK gunner and Bruno Bauer figures. One store still has a couple two-packs. No aircraft left. They also have the recent BBI paras with the removable harnesses.
1:32 consists of Hetzers at one store and Jagdtigers at another. Both have the last 32x FW-190D9 (JG 301) and a few of the smaller playsets (mortar, listening post, etc.) There are also lots of the 1:48 KI-84 Tonys.
FOV is a bit more diverse with 1:72 figures, planes and armor, plus 1:32 vehicles, tanks, and aircraft.

Michigan Stores
Checked kalamazoo yesterday, and nothing at all in 1/18th. The store in Alpine on the north edge of GrandRapids had 5 Hanomags with the rockets on the side. That was about it though, and these have been there for quite some time. Maybe some day the planes will be back.

Quad Trailers on Sale
Last week the 1:18 21c vehicles at my Sacramento (Arden Fair Mall) TRU were on sale for $15.98.
I picked up a Quad Trailer, leaving behind another and the Tan Hummer command vehicle.
Last night I went back to check on the 5 P-40s ... they are still $45, but I picked up the last Quad Trailer. To my surprise there was an additional 20% discount, reducing it to $12.
Try your local TRU to see if the vehicles are at the $12 price point. And please post here if those P-40s drop below $35 (I don't want to pay full for a duplicate -- to be shared with my brother).

Interesting finds, I went to TRU and scanned all the stock through the scanner and they all read: "Sale ends 7/18/2009".
If we wait until past 7/18, TRU will probably slashed them again afterwards. I remember last summer I was at the TRU Fullerton and they slashed the price again for Unimax's 1:32 FOV Soldiers of Steel figures again after the sale date ended when they still weren't moving from $4.95 to $2.95. There's really not much in my TRUs but I'll be holding out until then.
