Banging my head on the SR-71
The family and I took a trip out to jolly old England. While the rest of the family was wandering through Cambridge I and my 6 year old son got on the bus to duxford for the British Imperial War Museum. 4 hangars stuffed to the hilt with aviation history and a 5th hangar full of tanks and artillery. A-10's, B-52's, Voodoos, 109's, spits,P-47's,Phantoms,the concorde(which you can walk through),etc., etc. Best part of all was wandering through hangar 4 mezmorized by the A-10 suspended from the ceiling and wham!! Turned around to see what I just slammed my head against and realized it was the fuselage of an SR-71. All I could think was, "Wow! I just hit my head on a Blackbird!". Most of the planes are just right out there for you to see and touch. Definitely worth the visit if you ever make it out there. Really fired up the imagination for all the 1/18 aircraft that coulda, woulda, shoulda been.
