Humvee/TOW accessories?

Post by dragon53 » Fri Apr 03, 2009 11:04 am

I just got my 21st Century Humvee/TOW from Monkeydepot.

I have 2 questions about the acessories:
1. One accessory set includes tan tow rings, black piston-like rods and small A-support arms, etc. ---What do these accessories attach to?
2. Does the tan TOW cluster lie free in the Humvee bed or does it attach?

1. was the pieces to the tripod - despite best efforts I don't think anyone has ever assembled it. Because the model is based off what I think was a Tamiya, I believe they just replicated the pieces and the tripod just didn't translate to non-kit form.

2. Lies free IIRC.

DIGGER:

Thanks for the info.

One more question: Are the small tan-colored tow rings also part of the TOW tripod or do they attach to the Humvee?

All of the little doodads are part of the tow tripod system. You can actually assemble the legs, but there is no way to attach the legs to the tow mount.

PAULPRATT:

Thanks---it sounds the whole is not equal to the sum of all its parts.
