MD total
With the last purchases I made a week ago, my total since this Blammo Sale started is around $800, all 1/32 stuff. Had to start unboxing it all too so that I could fit it into smaller boxes to keep it hidden from the spouse
And my shipping was nothing b/c I live 20 minutes from MD

Still plenty of good stuff left. I've spent around $700 and am seriously looking at another $200 in the next couple of days, if I can figure a new way to get it past you know who.....
My problem is that doesn't include my "regular" purchases in any given month, of at least $100, this past month includes a Panzer IV, a Gate Jeep and a great 1/6 "Gort and Klaatu"...... which add to another almost $200 month.
Maybe I'll use the "It's an investment, sweetie"....... but that old line is growing whiskers.....

Re: Total
Why don't you sell all of that, double your money, keep the money you paid and you can come buy me a new set of leather sofas.dandaman wrote:A little over $2800. But that was spread out over weeks, since the sale began.
Hell, I'll even let you go to ikea, and you can keep the left over grand for yourself as profit.

I bought a lot of the 1/32 scale stuff as well. A scale that I was not going to get into, BTW. Between the Wal-Mart clearance of $9.00 a piece and the MD Blammo sale, it was enough to at least have one of each piece in 1/32 scale ground/armor (minus the Flakpanzer IV "Wirbelwind", FireFly, and M4 with Dozer, M3, M5, M16, M18, M-24 M41, M115, Tiger I and 3 of the Panzer IV variations). Shipping effected me in terms of buying the 1/32 planes.

Re: Total
Oh please...you all must have spent at least that much! The way those 88s and Panthers got bought up...someone else here must have been shelling out major $$$ for all that.flyboy_fx wrote:

Nowhere near $2800 and that's for sure. I've bought a Panther, multiple M-48's, a 88mm, a Avenger, a quad .50, multiple 1/18 guys, and now multiple 1/6 guys and a 1/6 quad 20mm for nowhere near $2800. Even while I'm considering a 1/6 Pack 75mm howitzer and I won't come close to $1000.
$2800? What did you buy?????, 75 Panthers? I can't see a reason for that unless you are opening a Panther store?????
Opinions, guys?

Why is that so shocking? Look at this sample order:Threetoughtrucks wrote:$2800? What did you buy?????, 75 Panthers? I can't see a reason for that unless you are opening a Panther store?????
10 88s @ $44 each = $440
5 SS sets @ $34 each = $170
5 PAKs @ $10 each = $50
That's $660 right there in one order. And that's not including shipping!

OK, so a sample order totals $660 (without shipping)...... so that still leaves room for 60 Avengers. OK, I understand buying as an investment, but unless you just hit a lottery, or you are an AIG employee, in these days, spending almost $3K on toys for somebody not in the toy business seems very strange.
Most of my purchases will be resold in a few years, but meanwhile they will join my 15 NIB 1/18 vehicles, and NIB 1/6 CC, Kettengrad, Sherman Tank, M-10 Tank, Stuart, 250 half-track and Kubelwagon...... all waiting for the right buyers..

Am I the only one who doesn't want to sell his stuff and enjoys it?
I got 2 88's, a Dodge truck, a quad .50 trailer, 2 SS sets, and a handful of random figures to fill out orders. I cut it short there. I didn't need more PAK's though a tri-camo one would've been nice... no planes, no tanks...
I was pretty pleased with what I got and it'll display nice when I get around to it.

Funny
Well then it's really going to confuse you when I say I open most of my purchases and put them on display around my house. Sometimes I sell my extras, but it's usually years down the line.Threetoughtrucks wrote:OK, so a sample order totals $660 (without shipping)...... so that still leaves room for 60 Avengers. Precisely, aint that the point? But you can always borrow money from your kids or parents. You miss the true insidiousness of the affliction; but I still think having a nosey, fiscally responsible wife has its benefits. So maybe wedded bliss could have saved Danno a couple of grand and help him avoid sittin on an 88 or grabbin a dak figure instead of the toothpaste first thing in the morning.

Another MD "buy" taken advantage of. A neat little 1/6 DML Pack 75 to be towed behind one of my lonely Jeeps or my Beep.
This buy, like my Quad 20mm are personal toys, not for investment.
I do hope MD runs out of sale toys soon, or I'll need some Stimulus money........... Lets, see... I've called myself "The Bank of Dad" for years, so I might just take advantage.
