Planes of Fame Airshow 2005 Day 1 Gallery Photos are Online!

Post by p51 » Wed Jun 29, 2005 10:43 am

It's taken almost a month to go through all 13,000 photos from just Day 1! But I have 655 images online in 6 pages located at http://www.warbird-photos.com/pofairshow05-1

This airshow is warbird central and by far the best Warbird show in the USA if not one of the best in the entire world! Of course, as most of you know, I volunteer there as a webmaster, official photographer, and graphic designer. Now to get to work on day 2!

Love the Skyraider pics. What a workhorse! It's incredible that the Skyraider came along so very soon after WWII ended, and yet could carry the same payload as the B-17 and B-24, and, when cleaned up, could out-climb a P-51.

21st should consider this a/c in 1:18. Repaint opportunities for Korea and Vietnam abound.

Thanks guys! I really appericiate the comments. I've already gotten started on Day 2, which has about 10,214 images. From that to 650ish, it's quite the job! On top of that, I have another giant Airshow I did the week before Chino at Shafter (Minter Field). That one has about 9,000 images. Then 4x Planes of Fame Monthly Events, though smaller, still take time! And I have another Monthly Event this Saturday :-P

Also, some cool news about the Skyraider... If all goes well I have an air-to-air session with the A1-H Skyraider (flown by Skyraider Bob, it's the Skyraider with 500 on the nose) in August!

Well then, let's hope all does indeed go well between now and then. :D

Excellent pics P-51! What kind of equipment do you use? Lenses, camera bodies, etc. Keep up the great work!

I'm a Canon guy. I use the new Canon Rebel XT 350D Digital SLR with a variety of Canon Lenses. 18-55mm, 28-105mm USM, 75-300mm USM IS, and my really expensive 100-400mm IS USM L Series.
