i'm sure you know the piece, it's been around for many years now. Features Wittmann leaning on a knocked out Cromwell tank turret. I thought it would be neat to have the turret.
It came today and i opened it up and thought it was pretty cool, but i went, whoa, that cromwell must have been one huge tank...the turret is bigger than a 1/18 tiger's turret. The more i looked at it the more suspicious i became, so i measured it.
And it's not even close to 1/18....it's about 1/14 scale. I can't believe Dragon would make such an enormous error.

i never met an airplane i didn't like...

sure shocked the you know what, out of me. I expected it to be accurate to within a millimeter....instead it's off by 22%.
So basically i paid $30 for a Wittmann figure. It's a nice figure but...

Well all I can say is thank you.
MG-42 almost had me talked into getting one because of the Cromwells turret. So thanks for being the guine pig.
Kirk Douglas : Mine hit the ground first
John Wayne : Mine was taller

that's where i got it too. It's a very nice piece....just gigantic.
I can't sell it because i already had seperated turret from hull section and was tinkering with it before i discovered how over scale it is....i can't believe dragon did this...
The turret should be 4 1/2 inches long and it's 5 1/2, so between 1/14 and 1/15.

interesting....
it's a lot bigger than 1/16 though. It makes my trumpeter t-34 turret look small. I guess they figured they could just blow one by us and released it as 1/18.

I'm glad you took the time to try this. I have two with one slated for an eventual (but likely never to be finished) cromwell build and the other just to have for what it is.
Thanks for the heads up, I can shoot down that fantasy now.
