Expecially since they are supposed to re-release it this year.

I've seen them bid into the $200s before. I'm sure glad I never sold mine when I temporarily got out of collecting back in 2005, that tank would've been a booger to replace.

I sold mine about a year ago and got well over $200. I miss it but I can wait for a repaint.

Interesting indeed. I just love it when an ebay seller takes our text to promote the item. Heck, there's a e-commerce web site in Europe that copied us verbatim for all our Unimax listings! :x

Anyway, be interesting to see how much it fetches in this economic climate...

It's up to $145 now.

Glad they are re-issuing this.

So... question: Will the new one have the same paint and weathering?

Hi,
At this point in time, the M26 Pershing is not scheduled for a rerelease. That should help to pump up the price of the ebay listing!

Hello,
I spoke with one of the principals of Unimax just yesterday at Toy Fair regarding the Pershing. The company claims that apart from the US market, there doesnt see to be much interest in bringing back this item for an encore appearance. German vehicles, on the other hand, seem to have no trouble finding an audience both here and abroad...

Having said that, they could re-issue the Pershing, like they're doing with the sand M1 Abrams and winter 251/1, if they knew they had a firm committment from dealers/retailers for this item. They need to produce a predetermined number of vehicles to make it worth their while.

I know how pieces we could move if it were returning, however, its not enough to prime the pumps and get the machinery rolling.

Anyway, I've learned that you never say never in this hobby. Perhaps they'll refloat the idea in a few months and gauge dealer reaction before moving forward...

Hi lightning2000

Did Unimax say anything about any new german figs and vehicles in 1/18?

Panache Place, the U.S. distributor, in an email response to me last May. It said "late next year".

Not surprising really.... German is what sells the most, it's pretty much the way it has always been in this hobby, and will probably remain that way for the forseeable future. Barring a re-release of the Pershing, the remaining examples in the hands of collectors are only going to become more valuable.

1:18 Figures

Post by lightning2000 » Mon Feb 16, 2009 7:28 am

Hi StuG,
Unimax is coming out with a line of modern 1:18 scale figures which I didnt examine all that closely since they're destined for mass merchants instead of the hobby dealers. Think a secondary line to the GI Joe range with articulated limbs and a lower price point. Its a great way for the typical mom to snatch up a hoard of 1:18 scale figures once the GI Joe movie comes out, at a fraction of the price.

I havent checked, but they could be on display at the Unimax corporate web site.
