Another 88 question.
Another 88 question.
Hey all, just a quick question about the 88. Tankgirl got me one for Christmas, and although a beautiful work of detail, I was curious if the barrel elevated up and down because mine seems to be stuck in a front firing position. I'm sure this was fine against enemy troops, however those pesky Spits would find it easy pickens.
Has anybody else had this problem, and if so could you explain it to me pppplllllleeeeaaassseeee??? Thanks everyone.

Yes most of the 88's seem to have this problem. Put the 88 on a flat surface and without the wheels! Take the barrel in one hand and lift, while pushing down with your thumb of the other hand on the breach end of the gun...slowly. Once its moved you won't have this problem any more.
When lifting the barrel, lift from as close to the center of the gun as you can.
Cool, thankyou, I will give it a try this weekend. I just didnt want to break that expensive little sucker.normandy wrote:Yes most of the 88's seem to have this problem. Slim pickin's
Very little to speak of...don't know if you caught my post a few weeks ago (I think you were in FLA at the time) that I found a Rudel 87 at Brentwood's TRU, but other than a few XD figs on clearance at WM & KB, nada...one note unworthy of pinning any hopes on: a KB toys manager said that the stores are actually still getting restocked as they clear out their warehouse, so maybe a glimmer of hope some final XD figs will make it there...

I'm gonna putz with mine here soon. This thread was a help... I was wondering the same thing.
Love the 88... I still say this is NOT worth $80 on its own though, nope. $40 though? Yup. I like it a lot... Mine doesn't seem to sit all ready to tow though. Does anyone else have that problem? Is there a way you lock the carriage pieces in so it sits right, or am I missing something there too?

Thanks BD1
I figured it out when I was loosening up the barrel actually and forgot I asked. I saw everyone getting their carriage to sit right, and I'm looking to see how maybe a pin slipped into the 88 itself, like a usual toy design would be, but the pin system they used is much more delicate and harder to notice. Pretty cool detail.
