Regardless of what happens to 21st, I think MD has put itself on the popularity list of e-tailers with all their bargain sales. Once these sales are over, I am sure we will still be chekcing their website in the future which for many, like myself, wouldn't have happened were it not for this gigantic clearance sale.

Agreed. One of my favorite sites now. High on the bookmark list. Never really paid that much attention to them before.
They're running a good strategy, cause I check them 4 or 5 times a day.
When it's all done though, can they be an everyday low price seller?
They should do sales more often, even if it's not a blow out one. It attracts customers.

They were working today on Sunday, because I just got a shipping notice for my 88.

I saw that too and said 'Wow! $18!'!! But then, when I figured shipping is probably is probably around $12...hmmm...$30 just doesn't sound 'fun' anymore...hopefully there will be MORE to order, then I won't dwell on the shipping so much...

It was there yesterday, but I don't know how much before that.

It showed up mid-afternoon yesterday, along with a couple other items. They must have discovered a previously unopened chamber in the warehouse...

Indeed!
People nowadays tend to discount the effectiveness of human sacrifices.
I think the events of the last week demonstrate rather well what can still be achieved with that particular practice.

Is the P-40 Warhawk worth getting? I've always thought it seemed like one of 21C's weaker efforts.

It's not a good model at all. But it's the only P-40 we have in 1/18 scale. So if you really want a P-40, that's a damn good buy.

At these prices, I can make room!
LOL Your mom is right. You're gonna be scratching your head where to put all these boxes soon. But these deals are just too awesome to pass up.

LOL! While I'm at it, I have a Mitch F-86. Is the Huff different enough to make it worth while?

I have refrained from comment on the private reserve stuff but now that we see 21C had certain "private reserve" planes in their warehouse and they could have been bought at wholesale and sold at retail, you have to wonder about what is genuinely "private reserve" and what BCA has just decided to make "private reserve."

I'm sure would have to be flawless boxes and windows. Some people are very picky, and for those prices one would expect nothing less.

Kinda like the mint-on mint-card collectors. They are fanatical about it, and some will pay many times the amount on AFA graded cards. These are the type of people I suspect are into such things.

Anyway getting back on topic, I'm thinking about buying some more from MD just for custom stock, after seeing some of the paintwork in the customs forum.

Don't think we are going to see much from 21st in the way of repaints even.

Everything that 21st Century had stock of in 1:18 scale, we also had on our web site at standard retail, so that should (up until about two weeks) ago have been a good indicator of what was actually out of stock with 21st Century, and what wasn't. (Excepting the odd warehouse cleaning find.)

Not to derail the thread completely, but Corey i wanted to say thanks for having a good selection at consistently "reasonable" prices (yes i used quotes). My whole family shops with smalljoes.com for 1:18 vehicles. My son is 7 and he has a world war 2 obsession to say the least. Myself, my parents, and my grandparents have all shopped the site to get him the stuff he wants. I recommend it all the time.

You need to get Modern era Joe stands in stock though.

Here are some pictures from Christmas, to show you how much business we did with you over the holidays. Not that we are your best customers, but we wanted to say thanks.

(We got the bbi stuff at TRU, and the FOV stuff at Target)

The Tiger tank and a P51 are at the bottom of the rear stacks. I hope my spoiled baby jr. son of a bitch doesn't upset anyone. He has 3 orders coming from monkey depot too.

The last one is a scene he wanted to set up on Christmas evening. He said that Elsa found something in the desert and the African troops are giving it to the regular German troops who are headed back to Germany to deliver it. The allies eventually came and wackiness ensued.

To the budget comments, I hear those loud and clear...

I forgot to take a MD order off my account actually so even goofed my checkbook up and had to reconcile it the other day, haha. Bought too much, but not an excessive ammount... Two 88's for the price of one a month ago, is damn good as deals go, so I did clamp down on that...

The SS sets, again, good deal for something I didn't have and never would've paid full price for. I got 2 sets of D-Day tankers because I didn't have enough guys for my Shermans, so that was a good purchase (and the one I missed in my checkbook)... I may go back and get some more, not sure yet, but there's still some insane deals up. My ceiling's too full as it stands, so planes aren't on the radar for me, but man that 262 was tempting.

Good golly man. $37.95 a set? Should it even be considered a deal at this point?
