Forces of Valor 2009 Lineup

Post by lightning2000 » Fri Feb 06, 2009 8:28 pm

Hello All,
We just received notification regarding the 2009 FOV lineup. As Greycap already indicated, a KV-1 and Stug III with a short barrelled gun are in the offing. Also expected are a 1:32 King Tiger Ausf. A heavy tank with a Porsche turret, the reintroduction of the Abrams in sand camouflage, and repaints of the Stuart and GPA amphibian, although the images supplied look the same as before. Likely, new images will be shown at a later date.

The 251/1 halftrack in winter camo is being reintroduced plus a new paint scheme for the Bf 109G6 fighter.

In the 1:72 scale regime, look for a GMC 2-1/2 ton truck, Elefant and Panther Ausf. G medium tank.

Lastly, the manufacturer has "located" a batch of the 1:16 Tiger I tank portraying Wittmann's final battle at Cintheaux, France.

We'll be posting everything tomorrow, along with images taken from their 2009 brochure.

Cordially,

Hi,
I posted a preliminary image of the KV-1 tank to our site. Its model #80056. Better images will likely be made available shortly, perhaps as early as next week...

I'll finish up the new postings tomorrow. Time for bed, if my dog will be kind enough to shove over...

MG, you know that 21st has had a porsche turret king tiger for some time right? It lacks several details, especially zimmerit, but it definitely has a porsche turret 8)

Thanks for posting those pics Mitch... all three look pretty sweet to me, the KV-1 in particular opens up the possibility for at least two other tanks based on essentially the same chassis... the KV-2 and the IS-2 Stalin, although the Stalin would require a slightly different hull front I think, I don't think it should be too hard to do. A KV-85 might be another possibility as well..?? 8) It's about time we got some Soviet armor other than the T-34 in 1/32 scale, and I predict the KV will be well received and sought after by 32X collectors. All things considered it looks like some nice offerings in 1/32 & 1/72 this year from FOV... :)

Thanks for some pics!
Those look nice. Definitely will get a couple of them.

Any pics of the sand colored Abrams?
Wonder if they will use a different weathering technique?
I just did not like the early models black in the cracks washes. For that matter, that's what originally turned me off to most of the FOV line when they first came out. Did not look right. It was better with no weathering like on the Action Series than with it IMO.

Now they are getting the paint really nice on most models.

>>> Nope , not as of yet. ... All these do look great (promising) . I'll be getting these + the new winter "white-washed" 251/1 Hanomag , definitely. No pic of that one either, yet. Kinda' like to see what that one'll look like too. 8) ... It should look different than their 1st. issue winter "white-washed" Eastern Front / Kursk 1943 Hanomag w/ the 4 crew. I hope they include a whole new different crew or w/ the 4 guys , instead of those wounded dudes.

I'll take the Stug, the KV1, I dunno, I'd have to see more detailed pics. The King Tiger they can keep.

I'll take the new StuG III and KV-1. I would also be interested in a 1:72 deuce-and-a-half. The market is already SUPER saturated with Dragon Elefant/Ferdinands... not so super-saturated with Panthers, but they'd better be five star releases for me to want to purchase another one in that scale.

Is there any chance FOV will release more of their 1/32 vehicle set figures in the 2-packs a la the current Target modern tank commanders set? It is frustrating (and expensive) to buy another repaint to obtain 2 or 3 new figures with a vehicle.

I predicted the Deuce and Elefant was being shrinked for 1:72, sucks they didn't do the Stryker too, guess I'll have to settle with getting the MRC one instead. Glad to see the KV-1 has a tank commander figure, a new one too, looking forward to getting this one for sure.

Lack of 1/32 British armour is a bummer & can't see the new King tiger being better than the Dragon one witch is already out
Hate the weathering on FOV stuff
Any news on 1/16 front :?:

Frontline has some interesting British armor but it's not cheap and getting harder to find. There's also Britains. If you can find the Britains you can pick up their armor for around $40 if you find the right seller.

Both Frontline tanks don't look very good as they made of resin

I generally agree alot of the resin tanks leave much to be desired but the Frontline Cromwell and Churchill tanks look great to me. I also believe the Britains Firefly looks good, as well as Figarti's Honey. Even some of K&C's tanks fit in well. They're all resin...
