Do any of you insiders know the status of the BBI 1/32 F-104 Starfighter?

I found an etailer that had the BBI F-104 listed at $39.99 (obviously a pre-order). If and when, the F-104 is released, the price could be reasonable based on the following.

By comparison, here are the etailer's other BBI prices:

SBD Dauntless--$39.99
F-4J Phantom--$49.99
F6F Hellcat--$49.99
Me-109--$59.99
MH-6 Little Bird--$39.99

Here's the site (I've never heard of them):

AMERICAN_GRENADIER:

I remember Badcat pulling out of a deal with BBI for an F-104 repaint because BBI's financial demands were too high.

I'm surprised BBI never released an F-4 Phantom repaint.

Based on your inside info, do you think BBI will eventually release the 1/32 F-104?

The F-104 would be cool, but how well did the 1:18 21st one do?

Seems to me that they need to focus on jets that are certain to be popular. The BBI F-4J proved that. It's a dream machine.

Tell me a Tomcat or Warthog wouldn't do better?

Nothing against the 104, but it just seems there's better jets, or rather "sure hits" in these risky times IMHO.

DAUNTLESS:

I was surprised and disappointed that BBI chose the 1/32 F-104 to follow the F-4--particularly since the F-104 doesn't have nearly the history of the F-4. I was hoping for a 1/32 F-15C or F-14. However, on another message board, William Liu of Hobby Master said their 1/72 F-104 was their most popular model---but he expected their F-4 to surpass their F-104.
I would buy a BBI F-104---but that's moot point now.

I would buy just about any BBI 32nd scale plane. Their models are just great. :D

SABREFAN:

I agree with you about BBI planes.
When I was a kid, I had a Revell 1/48 F-104 which was a great model. I would like to see the BBI 1/32 F-104, but I don't know if it will ever be released, so I bought a Hobby Master 1/72 F-104 in Vietnam paint scheme instead. unfortunately, it's too small. And the 21st Century 1/18 F-104 is too big.

Also, I was hoping BBI would follow the Dauntless and Wildcat with a 1/32 Avenger, but...
