Paul Carell: Hitler Moves East & Scorched Earth

Post by ltcbj » Wed Jan 28, 2009 12:09 pm

I may have posted these before but they are worth a re-post.

GREAT books that bring the war in the East to life. Ranging from anecdotal descriptions of individual actions to the operational overview Carell provides a fast, interesting and easy read. He really brings the war to life.

There are (or is) at least one hard-cover photo book companion to Hitler Moves East with references for the pictures back to the text in the original book.

He also has books on Rommel and the Afrika Korps- The Foxes of the Desert & D-Day, They're Coming!

Probably this one: "Operation Barbarossa in Photographs" This is a Carell title published by Schiffer Military, I have a number of titles in my library by this publishing house and most are top quality, and this one is no exception.

I have the same book. I think that there is a similar companion book for Scorched Earth.
