WOOHOO! Walmart Avenger Score!

Post by Yankee John » Sun Jan 18, 2009 6:01 pm

I found an Atlantic Avenger at Wally World tonite! It had to have been a Christmas return. Mint and complete in the box, I got it for $25.

I truely thought that I would never find an Avenger.....

Congrats!
Avengers haven't been in Walmart for a couple of years now, so if it was a Xmas return, it is really late.

Nice find, glad it worked out for you. 8) I haven't checked prices lately but there was a time not long ago when you couldn't hardly give them away on ebay, not really, but those that did sell were going very cheap compared to the original retail. $25 is a great deal, I figure I will have to hang on to mine for quite awhile before I'll be able to recover anywhere near what I have invested in it.

Have any idea how many WM's I have been in the last two years. Never saw an Avenger in any of them.

What store were you at? I'm located in the twin cities metro area and haven't seen any 1/18 scale aircraft for a couple years? Were there any left, or any other 1/18 scale planes there? More info please :D

Congrads! As mentioned, I think your Avenger was accidentally included in the return time warp with the Nimitz, hehehehe.....
Well done!

I'm in New Ulm. The store is less than 2 years old; Last year they only had the Mustangs Old Crow and BBD, and a couple F104's.

Somebody probably either bought it or got it as a gift from another Walmart store, and returned it due to WM's "generous" return policy :D

I'll have a Atlantic Avenger to sell sometime soon...that and a S1 F104. Soon as I get them form my sister house.

Still in box, can't vouch for the boxes condition as they were in a shed at my Dad's house.

Great find! Although, not as big a find as yours, I sometimes find older Hotwheel cars from the lates 90's and early 2000's on the shelf for sale.
