Is a basement appropriate for XD farmhouse?

Post by Morian Miner » Thu Jun 09, 2005 3:33 pm

I'm just full of questions this week.

I'm planning on putting my XD Normandy farmhouse on a dioramma I'm buidling and wondering - would a building like this in Europe have a basement? I'm planning to build rubble piles representating the portion of the building not there, and I don't know if I should build a basement filled with the buidling rubble, or just have the rubble piles at ground level.

Yeah - a European style house like that could very well have a basement. In the old days before refrigeration, such a place was used for food (and wine) storage. Good luck with your dio.

Absolutely correct! As Tman hit on, the "cellar" was a place where one would want to store food items because it would be cooler.
