Indiana Jones Russian soldier head compatibility?

Post by Lance Quazar » Mon Dec 15, 2008 4:06 am

Hey, I know a bunch of folks have done some customs using the Indiana Jones Russia soldier bodies.

What heads have you found that fit well onto that body? I'm looking to diversify my Russian troops a bit so I don't have another Clone Army out there fighting all my battles.

Any thoughts and experiences would be appreciated.

Also, what headgear (helmets, etc.) from what lines works well with Custom Russian troops?

And finally, does anyone know what kinds of weapons (and from what lines) would be period accurate for Russian troops in WWII?

The mind is the limit. As long as the mind can envision the fact that you can do something, you can do it, as long as you really believe 100 percent.

Spalko's head looks good on the russian trooper body.
But then I got Spalko headless bodies I don't know what to do with? :?

The Golden Compass heads will fit on Indy Russian bodies with some modifications. I would think GI Joe head would also fit. Anyone try this?

i've mixed-matched several heads and bodies from the following toy lines : indy, SW, GI Joe and TGC

some need a bit of dremelling, others need some tamiya miliput to fill the gaps, but all in all it works OK

Problem isn't the heads, most SW and GI Joe heads will fit the pegs.
THe big problem is the uniforms - at least WWII era. The Russian uniforms of the period should be a much darker brown and slightly green colored :? I haven't had much time to do any work on them since the last pictures, but plan to find a good marker or dyed Indian ink to do up my Ruskies  As for guns, there is a GI Joe "Burp gun that works real well with the troops or you can make one kinda like it using the 21st century Beretta MG and replace the stick clip with a section of German bread box(cyclinder) that comes with the German figures.

Can't have enough female Empire troops! WAHOO!

Very nice job on all of the mods you did!

Do the Gi Joe heads work the Indy Russian neck/posts ?
I don't collect Gi Joes, so I don't really know.

i've tried the snow job head on the Russia soldier body and it's a bit too tight, you'd have to dremmel the head just a little bit to make it fit

A little dremel work is fine. Some of the Golden Compass heads need dremeling to work with Indy neck posts.

8) . I don't have single female 1/18th figure in my lineup! Now I can start creating some using these pics as a guideline.
