Post by STUKA » Tue Dec 09, 2008 3:12 pm

Has anyone made shells for the different tanks - I can paint the tips for different types - just curious.

.22 longs work perfect for the 88 or Tiger.
Kirk Douglas : Mine hit the ground first
John Wayne : Mine was taller

thats wat I was thinking - although painting the tips may be not to safe when I take it to the range - but great for expended ammo and a great place to store some extra rounds.

Build-a-Rama offers 1:18 88mm rounds and shells. The set comes with two rounds, two spent shells, and a box to place the rounds in. Follow this link:

I got a bunch of these back when they were a couple dollars cheaper a few years ago and they are of good quality. I currently use them on my 21c Tigers and have some of the shells in my little 88m gun setup. It is a nice little set 8)

I know I know I'm always looking at them - if they go down in price I may pick up a bunch of them. Thanks for the link

What about the new 21st 88 that's out? it comes with shells and the Pak 40. You could use some of them.

If I remember correctly I think Verlinden or one of the other kit manufacturers makes 88mm shells in 1/16th scale that should be just fine for use with 1/18 tanks and guns, of course they would have to be painted, but the accuracy and detail would be as good you'll find anywhere. The Build-a-Rama shells are OK, I have a bunch of em' around here someplace, but they're a little crude and rough looking, with thick seams etc.

not a bad idea - I have no idea how to do it - but I can start a google search I'm sure.
