The new tooling is fantastic. I only have the RAF sharkmouth but I will say that is an amazing leap from the P-51Ds of old. It is a must have if you're into air power. The only thing about the Double Nuthin' is that the few that I've seen had some problems with QC, so naturally I passed on them. I'm still holding out for a decent one.
But besides that, the features of the new D as I hold it in my hand are : working rudder, working flaps, bombs or droptanks, a well done cockpit, the canopy sliding is done extremely well and the flaps underneath the fuselage drop as well. I don't remember what they are, but I'm sure you know. It has excellent fit and looks CLEAN.
I can't speak for Double Nuthin', but my RAF Sharkmouth is impecible. I'd say go for it if you can preview it ahead of time. Things to look for on Double Nuthin' are the checkers, make sure they're okay, and look for globs of glue.
Hope this helps a bit.

Also the rivets and panel lines are awesome, just like the new Fw-190As and Fw-190Fs. It's up to par with them, but to me the 190 is just a little better. But only a little. I will say if 21st could get things together, they could really do some amazing things. These newest planes are more model than toy.
Whenever I lay eyes upon my planes, I can't help but notice the tiny details. Yeah, we don't have engines, hydraulic lines and antenna cables, but we're close enough that with a bit of work it can be done. In my eyes the latest releases are 20% toy and 80% model.
I just hope 21st goes the right direction after booting Roy. If not, I'll gladly support BBI. BBI may be a bit slower but they've got QC under their belt, as well as quality product. I just wish I could get BBI in the store...
