21st Century King Tiger "Blue 112"?

Post by dragon53 » Fri Nov 28, 2008 8:37 am

Can anyone provide any comments or review on the 21st Century 1/32 King Tiger "Blue 112" and how it compares to Dragon, FOV and Hobby Master King Tigers?

[+] > I like it. It's a neat KT for the pri¢e compared to the super detailed enthusiast editions offered by other makers. Just like the Porsche turreted one.

........... It's a real bargain tank !

The KT is one of the best 1/32 German armor releases IMHO. My only beef with it is I wish 21C had not gone for the battle-damaged look and left all the shurtzen on. That would not dissuade me from buying either though.

Don't think it would be fair to compare them both when the Dragon sell for double the price of the 21st one
If you want a great king tiger buy a Dragon one

UKSUBS:

How often does Dragon release new models?

(I'm hoping Dragon eleases a 1/35 King Tiger with turret-mounted spare treads)

The detail isn't as good but it probably would stand up to rougher treatment. Like all 21C products its really a toy in designer jeans....

Aside from a nearly total lack of weathering, I think it's one of the nicest models 21C has ever made in this scale, and I much prefer it over the Porsche turreted model, which in my opinion has a weird looking camo scheme on it. I don't know if this particular model (blue 112) was ever made in an all plastic version or not, but mine is a 32X "cold steel" version....

the dragon 1/35 has far better details and more accurate historical paint schemes. but i really like the 21st KT's I often repaint to my liking!
