Need help on correcting a bent gun

Hi, i would like to ask on how to properly straighten a bent rubber or plastic part from an fov armor using hot water. I bought this tiger 1 before and noticed that the machinegun in the hull was bent a little. I would assume that part to be made of rubber (or is it plastic?) How do i correct this defect?

You could try using a hair dryer. Blow on it until warm enough to bend straight. I don't know how you would apply hot water.

* A hair dryer could make it worse. As far as the hot water trick ,.. well , you'd have to hold the whole tank under running water.

* Why not just try gently bending the gun back into place w/ your thumb & index finger. ... This has worked for me in the past.

hair dryer works best just do it slow and move the dryer around
dont leave it in one spot

Have you tried the hair dryer?

You won't scald yourself with that.

you use really hot water..from the facets like mine or bring it to a boil then dip the part in there for a few seconds........the next part is to prepare cold water usually put in the freezer for 30 to 40 min before you start. Then you but the gun or any item in to the hot water bend it to the position you want then Shock it with the cold water.............SHOCK THE MONKEY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Shock the monkey to life!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Problem is that the "machine gun" is part of the tiger tank. Il need to put the hot water in a small container so i could dunk that part without getting the rest of the vehicle wet. By the way, the model im supposed to fix is a forces of valor tiger 1 tank. Do they use rubber parts? the gun is a little flexible, im not so sure if it is rubber or plastic.

first it should be rolling boiling but you could try hot water try.. that first..just keep it under the the ruing hot water for a few minutes...then shock it with ice cold water and then freeze the whole tank for about 10-15 mins..

One could always leave it bent ...maybe the mg over heated and warped due to heat..

If one is trying to "correct" this bent gun perhaps a combination of stern, not harsh, discipline and kindness will work better than "boiling water boarding".

After all, we are not barbarians.

getting some hobby wire and using a micro drill bit to create a shaft to put the wire in would work. There is some extremely stiff iron and otherwise rods that go from almost 1" across down to thin wire, get one that won't compromise it too much getting it in there.

I once took a stiff wire and heated it until it was red hot (or thereabouts, even close to red hot will part the plastic well) and stuck it into the end of a bent plastic gun. It slid in like butter and the hot knife and cooled quick making a nice internal support.

Once the mg has melted into a small, round blob of plastic you can try selling the tank on eBay....
