* It's another of one of my favorite WWII German vehicles. I understand it would be way too expensive for one of our customizers to make , but maybe not , who knows.

* Yeah , I want an Sdkfz. 7 Prime Mover too , but I really like this vehicle. It was developed specifically for use on the Eastern Front.

Well I am not sure of the custom Ruple but I have a head start on a 1:1 scale. Here is a track link with a Bren gun carrior track link.

I agree, I'd like to see an RSO, as well as other support vehicles, but the RSO would be great.

* I had a 1/35th scale model kit by Testers of this , but I sold the damn thing a couple a yrs. ago.

... I even had Fruil metal tracks for it too.

......... I'd love to see this in 1:18 .

The hardest thing with customizing are the tracks. Then you have alot of wheels. Everything else is semi gravy. If someone could over look the tracks and use something else then any custom armor piece could be made.

Like the RSO. The panzer tracks are not correct but if one would over look that then this project would not be that bad.

Say for the T-34. Everybody would like one. Well me anyway. If I were to use a Sherman track and maybe the M-48 bogies I could knock this custom out in a week or so. But the tacks would not be right as well as the running gear.

Each piece of armor has about 85 track links maybe more, less for a half track. It takes about 1- 1 1/2 days to make 2 masters for a track link. You have to make 2 to make sure they mate with each other. Then you have to make the RTV molds for the track links . That takes another day. Then moving on you make copies. That takes about 1/2 an hr for 2 links. So in an 8 hr day you have only 32 links. So it would be smart to make a mold with the 32 links. That takes another day.
So far you have used about 3-4 days and you have not compleated a set. So if you make another set of RTV molds you can port 64 at a time taking a 1/2 hr. SO THIS IS A GREAT DEAL OF WORK. WHO IS GOING TO PAY $300-$400 FOR A SET OF TRACKS ? Not to mention $100 worth of RTV. The start up for a master then move on to making molds for production is a production all in itself.

It seems to me that making a custom of an existing AFV is a whole lot easier than making one from the ground up. Those tracks are killers.

Yeah, I'd like to R/C one with the pak 40, but the tracks are the biggest seller for me.

If they are not correct the whole project isn't worth it.

yeah it's not like there are tons of aftermarket stuff for 1/18 like there is for 1/16 tanks including track. I bought a set for my 1/16 panzer mk III.
