Bad luck with my 88. Anybody else?

Post by hotrodrock » Tue Nov 18, 2008 12:48 pm

My 88 was delivered this morning. An outstanding piece as most agree. Except the end section of the barrel on mine is glued in very noticeably crooked. Points about 5 degrees to the left of the main section. Anyone elses come this way?

I might try heating it enough with a hair dryer to bend it straight. Or use two small pairs of pliers to try and break it loose. Run the risk there of really doing some damage though. Just a real bummer.

Mine is bent down.

Waiting for mine to come in. At least they are not like the long barrel Panzer . The break was glued verticaly not horizontaly.

Hey, I'm nervous now too. Mine is scheduled to show up today from UPS. My fingers are crossed but if it's wrong, it's going back!

It'll be there when I get home. :(

Got mine yesterday from Foxhole Toys - aside from the box being banged up, it looks good.

Mine came the other day and both the box and the guns were in terrific shape.

Mine came in great shape as well. Actually, there might be a slight bend to the gun barrel, but it is not noticable! Either way, given 21c's recent track record with poor QC issues, I was pleasantly surprised to find my 88 tightly secured in the box with no broken or missing parts 8)

21c gets an "A" in my book for that, especially given the complexity of the model.

Mine had a slight downward angle to it, probably barely noticeable to the average bear, but things like that tend to drive me nuts... It was not much trouble to straighten though... :)

Mine was fine.

Broke the seat when I tried to pull it down.

Mine was fine also. I didn't want to pull too hard on the seat for that very same reason. Finally figured out the gun elevation. Didn't want to break that either.

All in all, pretty nice piece. Going to paint the Indiana Jones truck to match the 88 and sit them together.

88

Post by ARMY GROUP 1 » Thu Nov 20, 2008 1:34 pm

Arrived in tact, a great new 1/18 long awaited gun. Many tiny bits involved, so far managed to twist off a lifting pad while trying to attach wheels, the loading breach has fallen off somewhere in my messy office, I have broken off a lever. I have decided to get a second 88 which will
remain without the wheels, so I have an example of one mobile and one set up. I find the wheels just too hard to keep attaching, currently using a pair of tweezers to probe the locking pin shut.
