Check out the latest video of the soon to be released AD/Xion 1/16 RC Kettenkrad.

It looks pretty cool. I said before I was disappointed with the filled in drivers well, but with the driver attached it looks real good.

I can't wait to try towing my me-262 with this

MG-42, the Kettenkrad kit does not come with a driver, you have to purchase it separately as an optional add-on, same with the battery pack, esc/receiver and steering servo. There's a pre-order special including shipping on now.

So you are saying that thing costs $165 with no driver, steering, etc. Thats an awful lot for what amouts to a pretty bare model. I guess no body else makes one, but that price is a little more than I would pay. Can get a Tiger, King Tiger, Stug, etc. for a lot less, but then I'm pretty stingy. Might be something pickelhaube might take a shot at making but without the RC of course.

Does the driver have any legs? or does the driver simply morph into the body?

Half a driver = no sale from "this one".

Thanks for thinking of me but $165 for a Kettle with R/C that aint bad. The Hun (Woofer ) made one a few years back in $1/18 and I think that it went for $350 or more on e-bay. None R/C.
If you have the 21st half track in 1/32 scale and mate it to that Indy motor cycle you can make yourself a good representation of it. The 1/2 track's wheels and track are perfect. Take the front wheel and fork off of the cycle make a box with the grab on on the back and that is all there is to it. This will work I know.

John Wayne : Mine was taller

I think for what you get, it's an attractive price! It's just coming out at a time when the Holidays are rolling around, work slow down and of course, there's competition too. My main interest is armor/tanks so they are going to come first and there are a few new tanks coming out that are high on my list.

This Kettenkrad is way too cool! I do hope that AD comes out with the other support vehicles named earlier. 2009 is going to be a good year!

Still not quite sure why it warrants that price. An RC Tiger, Panzer IV, etc. with shipping can be had for less than $100. The new Stug RC goes for around $115 with shipping. I know that if you really want one, people will pay the price. But, it sounds like that with the x-tras mentioned, you are starting to get up around $200 or more. I do realize though, that RC guys are used to paying larger dollars for their items. But hey, I saw an RC 1/72 tank on ebay that started at over $300.

I wouldn't compare apples with oranges. AD is a small company that specializes in one off vehicles where the HL tanks are mass produced. His 223 and 222 went for over $300.00 without electronics and all of his products are kits ... very high quality kits that you assemble, not buy as an RTR.
