XD MUSEUM DISPLAY

Post by tankduel » Sun May 29, 2005 11:18 pm

Apart from running the local RC Tank Club here, I also work (yes I get paid to do this) for the local museum regularly running RC Tanks and displaying my XD. Here are some pics of part of the display I ran for 2 days last weekend.

Very Cool. Is the museum taking resumes? :D
Is that a G scale train building or a doll house? Either way it works!

WOW, a place that actually WANTS you to set up your XD items!
I gotta show this to my wife.
Nice job on the display. Did you have alot of people watching when you demonstrated your tanks driving through the display?

I see my old Normandy house and Barn are getting some good use.

Nice job, Tankduel.

Dollhouse

The house is the playmobil victorian dollhouse. Runs about 350, without accesories. Forked out the dough for the little one this past christmas.

That's rich for Playmobil! Now retail on the XD playsets seems fair. :?
You can tell us, do you ever "borrow" that one back?

Hmm... getting paid to work at a museum and play with my XD. Thats practically a dream job, in certain respects!

In a couple of museums in an near my hometowm of Fresno, I was quite tickled to find some XD products on display. Then again, it probably wasn't all that surprising considering that one museum, the Legion of Valor Musuem, is packed full of all sorts of models, weapons and other war memorabilia.

I've dontated a lot of XD aircraft to the Planes of Fame Museum to put on display. We're working on a giant aircraf tidplays right now that will have 20 or so aircraft all on display with placards that say '21st Century Toys: AIRCRAFT NAME' Good promotion for 21st!

Guys, thanks for the comments. I didn't mean to mislead you, but it's a bit more involved than an XD display and RC tank demos. I also set up a separate area where visitors (mainly kids)can have a turn at battling each other with a couple of 1/16th combat system equipped tanks; thats what the museum promotes and the XD etc is something I am working on to enhance what I do. I do get a lot of compliments and enquires about where to get the XD .My work at the museum is really a cornerstone that has enabled me to develop a childrens entertainment business involving rc tank and car games.

If any of you guys wanted to set something like that up, I would be happy to help out (no charge) but as you can see, it requires a sizeable initial investment. But as far as I can see, I am the only one doing this type of thing at peoples homes for kids parties, and parents see it as something unique.I can tell you the parents and kids are always well pleased with the product/games,and when I set up in the museum or public event, the crowd is drawn to it like a magnet.
