I have the "Blond Angel" P-47D Razorback, and it has pretty much the same features, though there are some differences between that version and the Bubbletop version that you have purchased. I'll compensate for those differences and bring in what I have heard from others who got the bubbletop versions, as well as what I observed after seeing a packaged one at a small retailer's store.
The 1:18 P-47s all have the usual 21c aircraft features. The flaps, elevators, and rudder are the movable control surfaces. The plane comes with the rocket tubes and wing-mounted bombs & racks, as well as the drop tank. The tank is the wrong version for the bubbletop P-47 (it is the same one that came with the Razorback), and should be the flattened type. The panel detailing on the outside is well done, but there is not much weathering. There is also a second row of cylinders in the engine, which is a nice feature
The landing gear are shortened (as opposed to being hydraulically extended as seen on the actual plane) so that they can retract inside the aircraft. The tail gear (at least on the Razorback) clicks into place so that it can support the weight of the plane and may be a bit tough to retract.
The cockpit and canopy on both the 21c P-47s are oversized and a little toyish (this is the only real downside to what is otherwise a great release.) The canopy on the BT version should slide open, but I don't know how stiff or loose it actually is. The instruments are not painted on either. There is a small gap between the instrument panel and the dash and no gunsight.
There were some QC issues concerning botched paint-jobs and broken parts with the first two Bubbletop P-47s (Eagleston & Eileen) but those have been corected with Snortin Bull, I believe. You may also want to look out for broken wing guns, though those were more of a problem with Wal Mart planes than at small retailers. It is rather heavy and should be hung securely.
As with all 21c aircraft, the P-47 is truly an excellent release, though there are some points that were left to be desired. Its no BBI P-51 or 21c ME-109G & Spitfire, but I think you'll still be pleased
